Ahh this was a bloody good innings. They bowled and fielded you well for the first 5-6 overs of balls. You ran hard early and got some quality runs. Once you found your groove it was said and done. Brilliant.
Footage is so smooth. Love your videos- nice to see English village cricket, enjoyable and relaxing! Plus your running between the wickets- you can teach some international cricketers how to run and call! From Australia
The calling was terrible - filled with "go" and "yeah go" which is NOT what you want. Any youngsters watching - don't do that! Go can sound like No and cause confusion. It's a basic of batting / calling to just use Yes / No / Wait / your call.
I always watch your videos the night before a game; helps me play my first few shots (mentally) so I am ready for the next day! Keep up the great work and get yourself a well deserved ton 🏏🔥
That offy was so spot on. I love the way he bowled to restrict the runs, he rarely tried to push for trophy but he always consistence about hit the deck on the nearly best line and length.
I've always enjoyed batting against leggies. Watching this video, I realise how difficult it must be for youngsters, particularly wrist spinners. Hopefully this lad keeps on growing!
that kid reminded of me 5 years ago . my dad had these matches with his colleagues ( judges vs advocates ) and i also wanted to go so he used to take me even though i was sent almost last to bat even tho i was better than them grandpas 😒 . but still those were some good memories man . miss that time!!
Sending lots and love and support from India. I used to play cricket at district level in my U-17 days and later in my university days. Met an accident and tore my ACL. Became a sports administrator with the Government of India and gradually lost my touch with cricket. Though I watch cricket on television but seldom go to ground. Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm batting. I look at the ball as it is coming towards the screen, I see where it's pitching and i try to play it in my head. That's what this POV has done to me. I feel confident enough to pad up again. And try all these shots which I've been playing in my mind again and again. Ordered myself an auto bowling machine..I'll install it in backyard and will try all these shots. Might even hit the ground. (I'm 14 yr old indian male in syd, playing for repesentative U17, top to middle order batsman and leg spinner)
Your batting is just mesmerizing. I have not played professional cricket since the last five months. I'm very excited to start my journey again after seeing your video👍👍
As a Srilankan, this innings reminds me Mahela Jayawardane's batting style. Slow start at the beginning and when he sees the ball well enough, he starts to score. Running between wickets and calling for singles and twos... really cool. Well done mate. It's really entertaining to watch.

I like the way you're always busy and looking for singles - even your defensive shots are played with intent. The young leg spinner produced some good deliveries I thought - shows promise!
Another example of ‘shit gets wickets’ 😂. Really well batted. Putting the pressure on the spinners, patiently waiting for the bad ball of the pace bowlers. Great watch 👌
I love this. I'm a pretty rank batsman. Hit big or get out every ball - a zero sum game. Bowlers just need to keep bowling straight at me. Watching this, I got a sense of time spent at the crease and it was really useful to actually start picking balls rather than trying to larrup everything (which I do with some aplomb when it comes off!)
Maaaan after watching this, I wish I never gave up on cricket hahah damn you, work and relocating so much.... Great use of feet against the spinners once you worked them out ... you hit some awesome on drives as well... Although, saying "go" would surely p!ss off a few of your batting partners hahaha would surely be mistaken for "no" from time to time
that off spinner was a very good bowler, the way you played him (apart from the last ball) was good. Sometimes a bowler is just that good where you can't hit him for boundaries and can only get singles. Well batted either way
Composed innings. Especially enjoyed your communication with the non-strikers while running. Must point out that you missed to make the most of a full-toss. Good show though.
Love watching this videos. Just a suggestion, try using your feet a bit against the slower bowlers. Even if it's just a defensive shot, it will throw their length off
@@canyoucricket Sorry if that sounded condescending, but watching your videos I just feel like coming down the wicket myself 😂 I was never as good as yourself but just had to mention it 👍🏻👍🏻
Depends how aggressive you wanna be. Bat in front of the crease and make a big back foot step first off if you’re struggling because they basically rule out lbw and any ball that could score the edge won’t hit the stumps. Plus the back foot step creates the space to see the spin.
The young lad turning over the leg breaks looks decent. As a former spinner I admire his form. Decent potential, just strayed a little too short at times, you played him nicely off the back foot.
