First time on your channel and I like how you go over everything. I convinced you will be the first to put a different body on with the stock fms light kit. Subscribed👍🏾
For the lights to work like the real deal, unplug all the connectors besides the headlights. You'll be disconnecting three of them. Then, just under the headlight channel, there is the DRL. In this channel, you will plug in a JST splitter Y harness, 1 male to three female. Then, connect the remaining three into that splitter connected to the DRL. This way, when you turn the light channel knob halfway, taillights and all marker lights come on up front under the headlights and in the fenders. Turn the knob the rest of the way to full turn, the headlights will come on with all of this, as well, just like the real deal. Only thing, the orange led's under the taillights will be on full time, as well. I just removed them from the lower light buckets, taped them off, and tucked them away. It looks very clean, can't even tell. I will link the type of harness you need in the comment...
They have all of the replacement parts on their website and a few upgrades. But I think the truck is good enough that they will have an aftermarket support soon.
I want one now. Don't even care what color. I seen a 10 or 11 chn on ALI when i Ordered my Hotrc 6Ch... they have an 8ch also. But man i think it would take a Lot to get all of that to work on another controller. Oh man i want one. Loving this Rig.
Awesome. That's good to know. Hopefully, mine will hold up for a while to. I don't think I'll need it too often. Really don't know much about soldering, I've been a carpenter just about all my life and have only soldered a couple of wires. Lol
LOL. The 'turkey baster' in the soldering kit is a solder puller...for removing solder once it is liquid. You put the tip of the puller near the liquid, engage the the thumb pull and let it SNAP. It will instantly pull the solder off and draw it inside. But hopefully your soldering work never needs to be undone and you will never need it. I prefer to use the copper braided solder pull for small, small work on electronic boards.
As much as I would like one of these, I would rather spend the money on something with some aftermarket support. FMS is great about selling replacement parts for what they make, but very little of them are hop ups. I love my Atlas 6x6 and 4x4, but there is just nothing for these past the OEM spares. Maybe this one will be more like the 24th scale in terms of aftermarket. I'm taking a wait and see approach to this one.
i just wonder if they will have the aftermarket support some day. axial traxxas, and redcat seem to be the big 3 right now. kinda sucks there are many decent brands being overlooked .
I think it's going to get some aftermarket soon. It's good enough. Redcat didn't have much until the gen8 proved to be great. & I think this is way better in a lot of ways. So we will see.
They could have left out the goofy rollbar , beadlock wheels would be nice but they know the first thing people are gonna change is usually the wheels and tires
Yes, and I noticed the rollbar is mounted and on the bottom side.It holds the magnets for the lights. so if you remove it.I think you have two mounts some kind of screws to hold the magnets on. But luckily it's underneath the top.I just put on. looks much better now.
Have the bodies been released yet? Like the ones from FMS? I hope they aren't the same damn price as the TRX's. I just can't bring myself to give $130-ish dollars for a dang body, even though they are beautiful.
Where the heck did you get Teen Wolf? Is he the correct size for 1/10 crawlers? I'd love to use him for either my 10.3 or the 6x6 tow rig I'm constructing.
Yes, they are from traxxas, and the studs on the truck are already long enough. They fit right on. I was looking for the proper Chevy ones. I have somewhere that has 4×4 in the middle.

Truck looks good, still cant help but wonder about replacement parts and aftermarket compatibility. I gotta say I am impressed though!

I have the same soldering kit and it's been useful for what I need for 2 years and no issues. I took the stand and mounted it to a piece of pine.

Yes, you can order the fms blazer body for only $40. For a clear one. I think it would look great with different color choices

I got him from a local store. He's 8" which is just a little tall. But it works. Because he's a warwolf, so it looks ok. Warwolfs are big. Lol

The problem is it has a 2 and 1 combo ESC receiver. I don't know if I can get a receiver that will go with this remote.

It only has front wheel drive or all wheel drive. You can't switch it to rearwheel drive.

And from front to back. from the windshield to the back of the cab, it's 4" without the topper, 11" front to back with the top on.
