    Cool to see how in that one spot, Jessamyn, Shayna, Roxy and Sarah were all sitting together. And they all made it on the show.

    1)
    It’s a 7am start, the next half an hour sees fighters talking between themselves whilst the UFC set up their table and the all important laptops. UFC matchmaker Joe Silva arrives at 7:30 and at 7:45, registration begins as the fighters are called up one by one. Fighters records are checked online, hence the importance of the laptops. Some are asked to show their tattoos, this may seem of minor significance, but this small check will avoid a potential large problem further down the line.

    LaRosa, Evenger, Modafferi and Baszler should be shoe ins to be on the show but then again, you never know when it comes to these reality TV show castings. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the ground with Baszler but it would be interesting to see Modafferi against her (still would give the edge to Baszler though)

    A few things... 1. More than a few (5-7 of them) have pronounced jaw lines & "caveman like" cheek bones/foreheads when it came to facial structure (juicing @ one time or another) 2. Lots of chics were getting caught in triangles. 3. I'll watch (dvr) season 18.

  • @llongone2
    @llongone2 11 лет назад

    Do a little research before you make an asenine comparison like that. You could check the combine records or Roxanne Modaferi, Tara LaRosa, and Shayna Basler....I`ll wait...nothing like Tank Abbott`s record, right?! So, as I said, A LOT MORE experience in the ring...a lot of winning experience. And all three have a lot of skills that Ronda and Cat don`t. Thus, if these three make the show, they may end up coaching a bit themselves.

    3)
    It’s not much to ask, but some fighters try their luck, despite not meeting the requirements. Some say that their latest win isn’t on the Sherdog database yet and others ask Joe Silva to view their highlight reel. It’s a desperate plea, to a busy man and it’s not the right way to get noticed.
    (Then it says they start out with grapling, and so on.. After showing the skills, they choose who gets to stay.
    Copy-pasted from google on how they did it last season)
    Peace;)

  • @bjoergvin1349
    @bjoergvin1349 11 лет назад

    At 8:15, registration comes to an end, but there is an opportunity for the fighters in the room who didn’t have their name read out, either by mistake or because they arrived with a teammate, to register. A quick check of their record proves what fighting experience they have and that is the admin completed. completed.
    The requirement is to have at least two professional wins and also have a winning record.

  • @bjoergvin1349
    @bjoergvin1349 11 лет назад

    I'm not sure myself, but I know they choose amateur fighters. You hear the girls getting interviewed saying they've fought so and so many years in different amateur leagues. The UFC organisation probably looks at where they've fought and their records before they get a trial. I'm pretty sure it's nothing like american idol, etc, where anyone can show up. In american idol, nothing is required, but here, you have to be a fighter, that's obvious. Maybe you can find correct answers if you google..?

  • @KeithFarrell1993
    @KeithFarrell1993 11 лет назад

    That's like saying put Ben Henderson against GSP at a catchweight of 165. They weigh the same but obvious GSP is going to win, he is naturally a bigger and stronger human being. That is the case for men over women about 99% of the time even if they look exactly the same size.
    Obviously she would lose to Cruz or Barao but that's because both of them are unbelievably great fighters and especially well-rounded. I bet Ronda would beat a lot of men outside the top 10/15 of bantamweight

  • @KeithFarrell1993
    @KeithFarrell1993 11 лет назад

    in a straight fight OBVIOUSLY he can, he is a good fight AND he has 40+ lbs on her.
    In a grappling contest, Ronda showed her technique overcame that 40 lbs and she can still beat him if she gets a hold of him.
    I'm just pointing out that if women weren't good, she wouldn't be able to submit him when he is that much bigger and he is good himself.
    Trust me dude, I know a lot more than you

  • @coonclan
    @coonclan 11 лет назад

    They are not there to pick the best women fighters to appear on the show, they are there to pick the most bikini compatible women to put on their show (yay, weigh-ins). Six years in the U.S. Army and I saw some PT Gurus who were indeed chicks; they were badass yes, only one of them was what you’d call “feminine”.

  • @CzarTissue
    @CzarTissue 11 лет назад

    Acknowledging the victory??? wtf are you talking about? So you mean because one seemingly progressive thing happens we can forget everything and go back to regarding women's achievements as novelty every time they happen? I don't mind jokes. But it's always they same type of jokes....and that tells a bigger story my friend.

  • @CzarTissue
    @CzarTissue 11 лет назад

    There should be no "steps to acceptance" for something like women in mma in the year 2013. Although I do know what you mean, there should be no mystery about it. It's people doing what they love and it just so happens that these people are women. That's it. I just wish people would move on and not dwell on such trivial things.

  • @CzarTissue
    @CzarTissue 11 лет назад

    America the shallow and superficial, not-quite-as-progessive as we think we are. Thank you all for your contributions to going backwards. A few women can't get involved in a sport that they love in this country with out receiving poorly disguised cat calls, an unnatural amount of attention to their appearance, and without overall negative skepticism. Bravo America!

  • @KeithFarrell1993
    @KeithFarrell1993 11 лет назад

    The way you wrote it made it seem like you were implying they weren't worth watching or less worthy than men, or they might not be as skilled/hardworking.
    If you mean that the #1 Male would beat #1 Woman at the same weight, of course you are right and I apologise for my misinterpretation.

  • @roadrunnerblink
    @roadrunnerblink 11 лет назад

    depends what you mean by "as good as". I agree that the average female fighter wouldn't beat the average male fighter for the same reasons that female tennis players don't play male tennis players...etc. They are as good as their bodies allow them to be which is all you can really ask for.

  • @StevenTLS2007
    @StevenTLS2007 11 лет назад

    You've obviously never rolled with a woman who knows ju-jitsu or sparred with a woman who knows how to fight. Just because you accept your pre-conceived "limitations" doesn't mean other women do, or should.
    This is coming from a male feminist who trains with amazingly talented women.

  • @KeithFarrell1993
    @KeithFarrell1993 11 лет назад

    you do realise he is a lot stronger her naturally and is much, much bigger than her... right?
    He would of course win a straight fight. That being said, while rolling, she was dominating even with all that extra weight fight against.
    Guess those women aren't so bad...

  • @Entriken133
    @Entriken133 11 лет назад

    There not trying to be as good as men, they just want a chance to compete. Who are we to deny them the right to fight in a sport they love as much as us? Besides two fights in so far and the UFC's Women's division is not disappointing at all.
