OMG THIS TAKES ME BACK. Back to 2013 when I first got into Disclosure (their breakout year I guess you could say.) It wasn't too long ago but it still makes me feel nostalgic.
I loved 2011, so much awesome music was coming out with the whole "Post-dubstep" movement in full swing at the time. Disclosure's first two release is what really sold their sound to me. Now that make some weak house tunes... such a shame to abandon this sound!
I'd say it's because they're actually making a career out of music now, with pressure from labels, touring, etc. which is probably why a lot of artists' earlier stuff is usually much better. Back when they first started out it was just a hobby, and where they were just teenagers, they presumably had a lot more time on their hands to sit and manipulate samples, and in their words, they didn't really even have any intentions (excuse the pun) to actually make Disclosure a success. I really wish they'd go back to this style, but it's sad to think that in reality, the chances are probably extremely slim :(
for people who've never heard music like this, its called garage a uk based electronic music which was big in the mid to late 90s-early 00s. it like some many other genres got ruined by bandwagoners who somehow turned music like this into a mc based music which eventually turned into grime. now the early garage sound is back and there calling it uk bass : S. if you want to check out good garage from back in the day check out artful dodger, todd edwards, danny j lewis & groove chonicle or zed bias
I *love* Disclosure! But lately i just can't take listening to Latch; I've herd it *way* to much. I love all their other tracks, and i almost always listen to them! :)
I have an awesome name True, and White Noise, but I've been listening to all their old stuff (My Intention is War, Carnival, Offline Dexterity, Flow, Control, Lividup etc.) for like 2 years and they never get old!

I got a Future Bass mix and this sounds similar so i guess they might call it Future Bass or Future Garage, some call it Conservatory, not quite garage but an extension of House ;)
Uk bass, its influenced from garage mate but shit no good boxing artists in mate trust. just limit's creativity. Just be glad these boy's are in the game and enjoy it
also check out mj cole. my point being if this came out 10 years ago it would be classed as garage based on its drum pattern and bpm and overall sound. yes it sounds slightly different from the original garage sound but so does the hip hop made today comapred to the 80s sound same with house music. dont label something as something else when the type of sound has been out for years before your time. but fuck labels you hipsters can call it what you want.

More greatness by the worlds best house artists, with the body warming and smile making power. This is a great song with great aspects .e.g rave

this right here samples Pharells verse in "Wanna love you girl" by Robin Thicke.
Confused why they've taken it as 'my intention is war' when Pharrell is clearly saying 'my intention to ball'
but really the thing is nobody does it like Disclosure. Their sound is definitely unique !
SBTRKT!
Nah he really popped off with this one. 🔥
they did it again!
I really wish this was on iTunes... :'(
Takes me straight back to being 18, what a song
My parents are pretty worried, I'm walking around the house all day with my Ipod on and screaming: MY INTENTION IS WAR!

Does this track go by a different name? I cannot find a link to purchase it anywhere. Only results for My Intention Is War! [fig ii]
It was a free download EP. Unfortunately, it has never been published for stream/download on any of the big commercial platforms

If their ever was a music video it would probably be hitler George Washington Rasputin and a Iraq or Muslim soldier all dancing in sync to this music
I got a Future Bass mix and this sounds similar so i guess they might call it Future Bass or Future Garage, some call it Conservatory, not quite garage but an extension of House ;)
timeless love

Wear your seatbelt because it might end up like the 'Dubstep ride'

smoochy! smoochy!
mi intención es guerrearle!
vpcal sample = robin thicke and pharrell - wanna love you girl
The umbrella term most people are comfortable with is "Bass music".
yes
reminds me '97
Anyone know how they made the main melody for this? Synth presets or samples?
ok can we just call this future garage and be over this?
It's a sample of Pharrell Williams from the Robin Thicke song Wanna Love You Girl
simple as UK garage, house, deep house, post-dubstep
SIMPLY GOOD FUCKIN BASS MUSIC !
simplest thing to call it is UK BASS!
It's just UK GARAGE but upto date. Listen to the old stuff and you can see. There are even remixes of alpha dodger stuff.
DJ GRENG ERRE JOL LEHET RÁZNI!!!!!!
also check out mj cole. my point being if this came out 10 years ago it would be classed as garage based on its drum pattern and bpm and overall sound. yes it sounds slightly different from the original garage sound but so does the hip hop made today comapred to the 80s sound same with house music. dont label something as something else when the type of sound has been out for years before your time. but fuck labels you hipsters can call it what you want.
Future garage?
what is the sample? i really like it.
aint saying they are perfect, and to some their music isint either, but fuck at least it is music.
'Disclosure' are DeepHouse artists, this sounds like garage style DeepHouse i suppose.
2023
can we just call it great music and forget about what genre it belongs to?
