Easiest way to beat is spam Fuse-ushi Guardian Spirit/Moment talismans each hit will leave an opening for a critical. That's the cheesiest way. Also adding weakness talisman will make things faster
This fight actually made me stop playing the game. There is no way i'm going to play the fucking game till NG++++ in order to play the standard NG dlc.
Poto2222 He must be talking about the sidequest in Osaka (Winter) where you basically 1v1 him, I think it's called The Dragon's Return. He is indeed a bit more agressive in there.

Poor guide, to evade this attacks you have to traning so much, the water spiritis close to impossible evade like a normal person. The best strategy is wait the enemy change the spirit and attack.
These bosses were our punishment for having infinite living weapon builds

In the dojo I just run around the rock until he's out of ki then merciless barrage and final blow.
Have problems to kill him on abyss. Most annoying boss in game, eh. I'll try your tactic, hope it works as on video
