That is a good size listening room. Bet alot of speakers sound great in this room. Have not listened to Neat spks for quite a while. Bet this one sounds very good.
Nice looking speakers. I particularly like your choice of music I have the joe Jackson album and the Jennifer Warnes album both albums are tremendous and I would also recommend The album titled the Hunter by Jennifer Warnes again .
Interesting this. Been looking for a second pair of speakers alongside my 15 ohm LS3/5as and until now mostly considered slightly bigger monitors such as LS5/9, maybe Spendor 2/3 or Petite. I like all that you say about the Elite, esp. how Be My Number Two came across. Would you say the Elite is still a midrange-centered speaker (bass not asking for attention) or can the lower registers become prominent? I have had this issue when considering nice 2-way floorstanders, very few offer the elegance and midrange-centered coherence which the better standmount monitors do offer.
I've not heard the Elite's, but check out the Neat Mystique Classic too (I think they've launched them since this review). Slightly smaller. I have the Mystique II (twenty years old now), and I absolutely adore them. I think the Mystique is closer to a Petite, in terms of size. I heard the Mystique Classic at a show recently, and they were very nice. £2.5k too. I think they're what I'd audition first if I were buying small-ish floorstanders today. My Mystique II have a nice bass, but it's not shouting out at you.
I have Body and Soul. Cannot really compare to other Joe Jackson recordings because they are different enough by comparison not to compare. I would say that I love that particular recording. And I love Famous Blue Raincoat for its lyrics alone.Body and Soul is more challenging to a speaker in respects though..

And a great way to get into arguments lol
@@Coneman3 and you have just shown that arguments can actually happen without him reading the comments! 🙂
Yes but I’m not arguing…

@@Coneman3 well, I said it was great. In a positive way. And then you countered with a negative. So...
Compact floorstanding speakers🔊 are definitely "Neater" than large bookshelf ones on stands 👍🎶
Interesting was thinking of auditioning a pair of Neat motive sx1 or sx2 thinking i need to add elite classic to that list

80s is my favourite decade for music.
