I went to my first Classic in March. I have to admit, i was kinda starstruck when i turned around and saw Seth there. I didn't even know what to say. Now i wish i would have talked aliens with him.

I love listening to Seth. Dave you have the best guests. This is the only podcast I watch. I live in Ohio and I really perked up when Seth talked about the grinder lakes. Yes here in Ohio 3, 4, 5 lb bass are the bigs here unless you go up to Erie. I seek the biggest but I also shoot for fish Ohio awards. Like I just got my first smallmouth fish Ohio. Had to be 18 inches. So I loved the part about how smallies are growing. Just love this podcast.

I love the do-it-yourself Dr. White Castle remedy. Thank you Dave Mercer for the opportunity to meet you and chat with you next to the stage at Decatur's Ingalls Harbor after Day 1 weigh-in of the Wheeler Elite tournament. It was a moment I will cherish for quite some time.
I heard someone else bring this up and I think it would be an interesting option. The elites get their bare boat/motor/trailer. Then any accessory is under a “salary cap” say like $20-$30k using full MSRP retail. They can get their sponsor stuff for free or discount but your accessories can’t be more than that $20-$30k with the retail value of them. That includes trolling motor, graphs, transducers, shallow water anchors, bass/crappie breaks, mounts, etc. Then we get to see what each angler thinks is the most important accessory to them and how they set their boats up. It won’t take long to hit that cap mark. Dual shallow water anchors would be 4-5k FFS/360 $1200-$1700ish, each graph is 3-5k, Trolling motors are 3-5k.

You can qualify for the Elites and Classic in two events through the new BASS Nation Series, that is the new single division for the working man, he does exist, people just need to be aware. You can can sign up for 4 Qualifiers for $400 each, make the National Championship, shot at Elites and Classic
Seth’s stance on the 3 opens is pure gold! Even 6 events could be doable!? But 9?! It’s just not feasible, especially from the West. I’d travel for 3, 9 just isn’t in the cards.

Two places BASS should fish are Lake Winnipesaukee, NH and Lake Simcoe, ON. I fished both for BASS Federation Eastern Divisionals so they definitely have the infrastructure to handle a big tournament and the fishing is great. I’d also love to see them go back to the Delaware River, Seth wants a grinder and it definitely fits that bill. Fans are great there too!
I had a climber tree stand scare one time lol bottom fell and I was stuck for 3 hours while my dad sent my best friend who worked with him lol. 35’ up trying not to move at all lol

I hate to be like this and this is not me. this is my second season watching professional fishing. do you think the first that we're seeing the repercussions of what's going on is say Joey Ceufentes? Maybe had good information last year coming in but not doing good at all this year?

Seth is right. BASS needs to stay out of the south in the summertime. Fishing in Alabama 2 events in a row when it is in the 90's just does not make sense. There are plenty of lakes up north that would be awesome. The problem is getting a city or town to pay the fees BASS requires for them to come to town.
Dave am going to give you the opportunity to ask Bass this question and please think about it. Bass how far do you want to compromise these anglers careers after all the year's they have given to Bass and your fan's for new technology...
Bass is not compromising anyone’s career. Remember the anglers brought FFS to fishing not Bass. Bass just has to be the one that figures out what to do with it moving forward.
I don’t like his take on FFS and compromise and I don’t think he factored the fan or “working man” into his argument. While he says he’s for the working man with the three opens then be for the working man with the FFS debate. Saying you’d rather it be wide open where guys can put 15 graphs on their boat turns the fans away. When Walters won on Fork with it nobody was complaining. I think what the fan is sick of seeing are 22” screens everywhere and the price tag effect is what is turning fans away. It may not matter to the competitors as they’re gonna do just as good with 1 graph or 15 but I think it’s a bad look to have $50,000 worth of electricoinc… just my two cents and Seth pissed me off when he said he’d shoot a Samsqaunch!
