I just got your new paper caper book 2 days ago. Then we I came across this video today. This will help when I sew the diamonds doing blocks from that book. I have done lots of hexies, now I am branching out to new shapes. Thanks.

A wonderful demonstration. You simplified a difficult concern with the points

I watched you yesterday on an older video with Jenny at MissouriStar. Hadn’t heard about you before. Watched many of your videos last night. I tried paper piecing years ago stitching in the back of each piece instead of using the glue stick. Hated it. Now...I will try this again. Thanks for being on one of Jenny’s videos. I watch her all the time.

I love watching your videos, latest ones in particular (better quality). I’ve made quilts for 30+ years now, but have never tackled the English paper piecing. Your tutorials are wonderful, and I love listening to your accent (says this American). Thank you for sharing ❤️

Hello, Sue. I beg you to do one video on apple cores and how to sew them. I bought 2" apple cores and do not know how to manage them :( Thank you!!

Hi Sue! if I want to applique a 6point star onto something, without adding any more shapes... what do I so with the ends to hide them?

Sue, I am learning so much from your tutorials and appreciate you sharing your expertise free to RUclips! Would you be willing to answer a question please? At about 3:45 you show the three pink and the three gray pieces on the rotating board. The three pink have the tails going the same direction but the three gray do not appear to be lined up that way. I am not sure I understand what the purpose of that is, or if it was a filming error. Thanks.

Am I seeing things or do the darker diamonds have the dog was going in different direction? 🤔

    • @pamwehking2457

She simply reverses the direction of the ‘ears’... that’s why they must all be glued starting in same place.

I am wondering the same thing. The pink ones had both facing the same direction and the dark ones had them facing in different directions (at 3:40). I am wondering why the change and what determines if they are facing the same direction. Thanks in advance.

How do you get the paper out in the end? I assume it has to come out so you can wash the quilt afterwards...this is a new technique for me! :)

What glue stick do you use, please? It looks better than the one I'm using 😮

If you use the glue method, how do you get the paper out? Everyone seems to skip that bit XD

Thank you for the video. I cannot wait to try a star. Where can I get on of the square you using to lay out your pieces on while you stitching? Is there a pattern for them?

It looks like a Lori Holt design board to me. You can buy them or make your own. They are really nice and handy.

Suggestion could you get a close to your work as it hard to see what you are doing. As I just new and diamond is not easy to stitch and trying to find someone that does a close up on it is hard to find

....but they're not facing the same way - the darker ones are different? - or is it me?

When you get to an area that is considered as a set-in-seam, do you ever do 'flat-back' stitching?

    • @SueDaleyDesigns
      @SueDaleyDesigns  3 года назад

I personally don't do flat back stitching. I have never found it necessary in EPP

What happens to the tails once you have finished the star? Are they just folded back under and stitched! Thank you.
