I love the edits where Penny shouts "FAIRY GOD PARENTS" and her avatar randomly changes which direction she's facing to simulate Crocker from the show. Absolutely perfect.
Never before have I felt such a mix of absolute shame for my nostalgia blindness and enjoyment of a clearly bad game and absolute amusement from listening to some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard. Penny and her friends complaining and raging over a game I like killed me, and then the Crocker jokes killed me again.
The experience of my memories of this game and Shadow Showdown, I loved this game, and I hated shadow showdown so much I stopped playing on the first level, I think this game was mechanically more simple so my child brain could actually play it, while shadow showdown had real mechanics and required thinking
while i understand, objectively, that Breakin’ Da Rules is absolutely murderous for Penny’s mental health, i am SO grateful for the hours of laughs that the vods of this game have provided me. thank god she’ll never have to experience 3d timmy turner hell ever again 🙏

What pisses me off most about the dog level is that the whole goal of the level is to get into the mud baths but when you get to the salon you get mud baths as a obstacle. What makes those mud baths bad in comparison to the one mud bath you need to get to in order to beat the level?
It's crazy because other platformers of the PS1/N64 and PS2/NGC era would take active steps to make the "safe" and "harmful" versions of something DRASTICALLY different.
Think Rayman 2 with swimming water. Anywhere you couldn't swim would be swamp, lava, toxic sludge or oil, and you'd even have areas with dirty water to clean so you could eventually travel through it.
And that exact example with cleaning the water is in the WEAKER ports of Rayman 2 that have less levels.
So the mud in the salon thing in BDR just feels a first draft that could've been handled better. 😮💨

The Crocker bit made me laugh so hard that it compelled me to edit them all together because I couldn't fit it in a clip to show it to my friends. I have yet to finish it, but I have to say I've learned more of how to use lightworks on a snapcube fan video than I have ever for any animatic or speedpaint.
I keep coming back to this and watching it through just so I can get the build up to Psycho Crocker's Nightmare Palace and then smiling and giggling like a maniac to the amazing improv.
Also I played this on the ORIGINAL XBOX and enjoyed it.
Hadn't been able to replay it since that old ass console has been put away but I don't think my opinion would change much.
Obviously some things haven't held up, but honestly I think the bit crunched audio fits the visuals.
MiniTimmy was the worst level tho.

I recently discovered that Cosmo and Wanda have the same voice actors as both of Timmy’s parents, and I feel like there’s some sort of metaphor or analogy going on there that I’m not getting
They're the parents Timmy truly needs. Timmy was neglected for most of his childhood and now he has parents who's whole purpose is tending to his every whim. But they also give him the space and support to navigate the choices he makes.
They're like The Other Parents from Coraline except cool.
