Another thing to note about Nitro Dum Dum: The 74m OHK is how far it can one tap. However, if you hit with at 75m, it only takes one tick of bleed to kill you, and the ammo causes heavy bleed. I think someone said that you can technically kill at about 80-ish metres because the ticks happen too fast for you to stop it. That is, of course, if they do not have bloodless.

Yeah I have no clue why they have not just done the rainbow six siege method and made it to where arm shots if they're in front of the body or the head hit that body or the head and do full damage and arm shots on their own do arm damage because a literal bullet is going to go clean through a limb you can see this in a number of execution cases where somebody raised their hand to defend themselves and the bullet goes clean through their arm and hits them in the head

Hunt: Showdown is by far my favorite FPS, I have never and don't think I will ever find a game quite like this one. I've always yearned for some good and informative content and I think I just found what I've been searching for. Great content, it's like a nice mix of laid back information and comedy. Keep it up! Subbed for sure.
I'd genuinely prefer it if the nitro just didn't have sights. Like just a flat piece of metal with no indicator.. it'd be 100x better. I get that the awful sights are for balance though.
This video basically summed up everything me and my group thinks about the gun and was enjoyable to watch, though I can't help but say it might've been... a little more important to mention the guns damage multipliers to actually help explain why the gun is so woefully inconsistent. A lot of people I've talked about Hunt with, specifically the Nitro have had complaints about how a gun that does 364 damage at 10 meters struggles to one tap beyond much further than a stones throw when the reality is the Nitro will NEVER do that much damage to a hunter since the Nitro bullet type does half damage to hunters, a 0.52 multiplier to the chest and torso, specifically. It's legitimately one of the most misleading aspects of the gun and I feel that really hurts it's already poor reputation.
I'm just gonna say that adding a double rifle chambered in medium or long ammo would be awesome as a Nitro alternative. Even if it was medium ammo, having the ability to fire one barrel after the other in rapid succession would be so good, but it might also be OP. If you want to take it one step further, you could add a "Drilling" variant with either 2 shotgun barrels and 1 rifle barrel, or 2 rifle barrels with 1 shotgun barrel.
What's the point of giving it different ammo to allow two fire succession? People use Nitro for the one hit kill potential despite the horrible negatives and allowing a second shot immediately is overpowered if it's still one shot so you would have it nearly kill a hunter but leave it with a sliver of health. Just use any medium or long ammo weapon like a normal person lol
To this day I am still not certain that Nitro DumDum is actually less penetration than Nitro, and if it is, it is still probably close to long ammo penetration - which to me is so good that it can hardly be considered a downside since you can't realistically expect to play many matches around penetrating anything thicker than what long ammo could. I've been one tapped to the body by Nitro Dumdum through wall and floor at Alain fish. Penetration is not an issue.
I got a headshot with the Nitro at far less than 243 meters and the guy was still alive. It made the headshot splat sound and everything when I shot him. He murdered me soon after with headshot from his Vetterli Deadeye from the same distance. What a world. I never used it again after that.
@@nicbuzas7783imagine having double barrel sparks that one taps to the body with the recoil and ammo count of the nitro it would be pretty unbalanced, so my advice is to practice and get used to the sight's. Rather then removing them
Pretty sure explosive nitro extends 1 tap range by a lot. The 195 listed damage is the bullet damage but it doesn’t include the explosive damage. Don’t quote my on this.
Assuming that's true, and I have no reason to doubt, I would figure it would extend the range a lot since the explosive damage probably doesn't ramp down, like the shotbolt.
I hit a guy like 3 times at 150+ he walked away to tell the tale, I was baffled on how crappy this rifle is even with its 250 m range, sparks would have killed that dude dead in his tracks. Dum dum is the only way to go with the nitro.
I used to be a big fan of the nitro- every hit I tapped was a kill. Where others said it was inconsistent, I said I never saw that. Yesterday I shot a hunter in the chest from less than 10 feet away- he was peeking from the top of a staircase (so no lower torso/legs exposed) and I tapped him in the center of the chest. He shot back, and I tapped him again in the arm. He ran away and my buddy had to chase him with an Avtomat to get the final kill.
I agree that running away from an ambush (or into) is the best way to survive one, but at least try to shoot back lol. Btw I love all the kung pow references my favorite movie
oh, people actually use the iron sights? I just use the Nitro from the goddamn hip like a giant shotgun, but then again I'm absolutely the "blow all your money on nitros before you prestige" guy.
If it's a 4 shot boss kill it could be good for a quick sweep approach, with a secondary that can do most of the heavy work until you reach the boss, kill it so fast that you are a long way though banishing by the time people arrive, then book it out of there.
Mine too. Nitro is my gun, with dum dum it's a killing machine. Surprisingly I actually prefer the nitro sights but I am crap with most weapons so maybe that's more on me.
At short range the peephole sight is so horrid that people can easily wiggle around and step out of it, so you use your sidearm. At long range the nitro is so unreliable you switch to your sidearm. Long story short I always end up barely using it if I run it. Best use I got out of it is just crouch hipfiring it
Quickscope. Just put your enemy in the middle of the crosshair, aim and immediately fire, without waiting for the sights to come up. That's the best way to use the nitro, and if your enemy is good at it, it's really unfun to play against.
I think besides boss battles the gun is out classed in most scenarios by a simple and much cheaper Spencer. Even if you wanna take out bosses quickly you could bring a few sticky bombs or bomb lance. Nitro much like the Avtomat can get you kills but there's better options. Still fun though, great video as always!

Thats how I got all my hunters sporting nitros, and how I did the mastery in a week, its an amazing gun of you are good with a sparks.
I reall can agree with the title, I had many situations where I shot someone in the chest from about 20 meters and he didn't die. I also had another guy who shot me with the bleeding bullets from the Nitro and he didn't even destroyed my first health bar, even though he was about 5 meters away. According to how big the bullets are and how much it costs, I would really wish, that it would insta kill everyone up to around 60 or 70 meters or something. Honestly when I'm about to go prestige, I just use the Avtomat, because with this gun, I at least win almost every gunfight.
Great vid, makes me genuinely sad though.... the pre 1.0 Nitro was an absolute beast you could 1 tap a guy through a tree at 100m lmao. Sure I guess the nerf was inevitable given freely flowing salty tears, but I'd even take the new "nerfed" nitro if they would just allow you to flip down the aperture sight. Giving it this sight, for me, has made it almost a non-event now its so painful.
Yeah, the old Nitro was OP, but that Sight just ruined it. Either remove that damn thing/give us the opportunity to flip it down or decrease the price to 700-800 Dollars. Theres a good reason nobody plays the Nitro and thats just sad.
I know for game play purposes you should be able to revive teammates. But the thought of getting shot in the head and just it literally being gone being solved by like *Rub rub rub* you’re good to go cracks me up.
Could you do the uppercut next? I'm new to the game and see people using it, but some say it really isn't that great for its price. Which pistol would you say is the best for long range?
Caldwell conversion with FMJ is also really good at range and personally i think its better: Its cheaper than the uppercut by a lot, has a faster fire rate, its more accurate, has a faster reload speed and has more effective range The uppercut is good but trades accuracy, fire rate, cost and reload speed for better damage, penetration and velocity and slightly better effective range than the normal conversion but FMJ conversion is still cheap gold Hoped this helped
@@Jeremaiiia I usually have a long range weapon and a office brawler (to free up a tool slot) or Chain pistol (but only when you unlock fanning) with bleeding for close quarters and wallbangs.
Glad to see another swamp philanthropist, I challenged myself after the Halloween event to get 100K hunt dollars and did it before xmas, currently sat around 140K dreading my upcoming book of weapons grind for nitro, bornheim and terminus, all weapons I suck with.
That title is exactly how I have been describing the Nitro to my friends for forever. Yes I also use it every time i hit 88 cause Im close to prestiging. Its gotten to the point that among my group of friends its known as 'my gun'. And I love it. I love this big and bad gun. Yes Im subscribed, you can stop looking at me like that now..... Im serious, put the Derringer down.
So I have this friend I would play Hunt with (we still do semi regularly when we’re not going heavy into other games), but for a while they decided that it would be a good idea to just bring the Nitro, every… single… match. Now to be clear, they maybe got one or two kills, over the course of 20 matches… maybe. They were not good with it, it was a meme that went too far, and now they are a very broke player in that game. I have a pretty decent cash stockpile and reasonable enough skill that I am fairly comfortable with whatever load out I want to bring. Might not win every match, but I know when I don’t feel confident to pull out and save the hunter, get a small payout and experience. They, we’re always playing risk big win big, and kept losing. We have shifted to a lot of meme builds now (we find it keeps our interest/entertainment up, and it’s affordable 😂). Our weirdly most successful one to date was we were each allowed to bring one tool or consumable, nothing else. We managed to find a few melee weapons and rifles in game and actually killed a bounty and extracted. But every once in a while, somebody brings up the Nitro and I can just feel the hunt dollars disappearing from their account. Interesting vid on the Nitro, didn’t realize it’s damage drop off was so intense. Explains a lot in some prior engagements of mine. Clean body shots that I coulda swore should have been kills were likely just outside one shot kill range. Unfortunate for me and still kinda sucky for the price payed for this dang rifle (I have little intention of using it again unless I’m boss rushing), but quite informative.
should I feel bad for using it with the intention of chasing down the nearest target, removing it's soul from it's body and then tryna get out as quick as possible?
I wonder if the economy in this game got changed because as someone who started playing at the end of last year Hunt dollars have never been an issue. I can think of exactly 1 occasion I wanted to give a guy a Nitro & couldn't afford it. Then again I do just take free hunters with their starting gear for fun a lot so maybe I don't spend like someone who uses preset loadouts.
i gave up on the nitro a while ago, i had it in my hands and hit all 6 shots on people, and not one of those shots ever one tapped anybody. it wasn't from a far range, we were within range for a romero to instakill, and in fact, i did get instakilled by the romero in trading one of those 6 shots. that weapon is just useless to me
yo man i think you've really been developing your style/presentation and video a lot since i started watching a little while back and was wondering if you could maybe share you pc specs? I have been working on my own stuff recently but have been having quality issues i know i'm needing an upgrade soon just wondering if i'm messing up on a setting of some sort
hey man, if you don't mind, hop in the discord and you can ask me all the questions you have about youtube, editing, whatever. No pressure to stay once you have the info. Link in the description
Go to the arsenal tab where you can see all the weapons (not the roster but specifically Arsenal) then select a weapon. At the bottom, click 3D view and scroll on your mouse
I know this gun has to have downsides, and I appreciate that it does. But forcing the aperture sight feels like shit. It just does. Its literally $1000. It has 6 bullets. Just have the bead sight.
its the one gun I can consistently get into 6 stars with but I run a lot of slug shotties and this is basically the ultimate slug shotgun that applies bleed lol
I think that the Nitro is more or less the gun you bring out when you steal it from another hunter, like many of the high cost weapons of hunt its caveats are huge for a couple of really nice perks, big damage with big pen, no ammo practically, horrific sights, terrible damage drop off, special ammo, over $1000 and needs add-ons to be practical. I think this way about the Avto just that thing needs perks as well and you basically need to bring dual sparks pistols to have a decent ammo reserve but I think its a good measure to keep the weapons in check for the most part because imagine if the Nitro just used Long ammo or something along those lines or say didnt have the aperture and instead had a scope the thing would be a menace and the same goes for the Avto imagine it was semi-fully automatic basically you can take single shots while the gun is still full auto it would be beyond broken 2 long ammo shots in less than 2 seconds. I feel like the Nitro and Avto really arent worth the fuss they are, the only main thing I can say about the nitro is the boss killing potential is great and having an ok sidearm to deal with a potential duo in solos is also a good thing to do but yeah the high dollar weapons of hunt are pretty much balanced out by their terrible attributes.

Thats how I got all my hunters sporting nitros, and how I did the mastery in a week, its an amazing gun of you are good with a sparks.
I would use it more often if there would be option to hide this viewfinder to iron sight
I’m subbed, you’re one of the only Chanel’s I look forward to their next post
Next DLC - Chosen One & the gopher nitro skin
Nice vid man keep it up. Would like to see a vid about the avtomat
I love your sense of humor, and all the kung pow references!
Great video, boss. I haven't played hunt in weeks but I still watch your uploads lol
really lovin the kung pow references lately
i have just stumbled across those videos and i love them , great humor :D
Could you do the uppercut next? I'm new to the game and see people using it, but some say it really isn't that great for its price. Which pistol would you say is the best for long range?
Caldwell conversion with FMJ is also really good at range and personally i think its better:
Its cheaper than the uppercut by a lot, has a faster fire rate, its more accurate, has a faster reload speed and has more effective range
The uppercut is good but trades accuracy, fire rate, cost and reload speed for better damage, penetration and velocity and slightly better effective range than the normal conversion but FMJ conversion is still cheap gold
Hoped this helped
@@monroe8597 Yes, thank you!
After trying out the Caldwell Rival with slugs, I don't even think about taking the Nitro
Be cool if the Nitro could toggle its Sight like the Apature guns can..
I am surprised there wasn't an edit that had someone trying to move the sight on the big game gun but failing
The nitro is my guilty pleasure. I LOVE that gun. I even like the sights lol
I dont care for the game but your jokes are absolutely incredible, I am watching every single one of your video now
That title is exactly how I have been describing the Nitro to my friends for forever.
HONEY!! NEW HOME REEL DROPPED!!
Really like your videos. Thank you.
Allright, fine!
The mom-gloryhole joke got you another sub, you happy now!
(Just found your channel, im loving it.)
For me this weapon is the "Oh shit I have 20K dollars and 10 lvls away from prestiging, let's go expensive" gun
Nitro + Dolch pair + Ammo box(es). Great meme, feels good if you win, doesn't feel good if you lose
Just watching someone run the dolch and the nitro in the same loud out gives me unreasonable anxiety
They either need to remove the aperture, or increase the kill range.
If you making videos about meme weapons, I would love to see a video on the combat axe, its my favorite weapon in the game.
I don’t play Hunt Showdown nor I want to play but you have a new subscriber
Love your videos, plus the biggest dfw fan and yeah-i've read infinite jest,2 times!out of pure joy🙌😅
Thank you YT recommended, for recommending me a game that I don't own
i gave up on the nitro a while ago, i had it in my hands and hit all 6 shots on people, and not one of those shots ever one tapped anybody. it wasn't from a far range, we were within range for a romero to instakill, and in fact, i did get instakilled by the romero in trading one of those 6 shots. that weapon is just useless to me
This video has more jokes than all Kevin Hart movies combined
small note:
The Dum Dum ammo can still penetrate rock solid walls.
yo man i think you've really been developing your style/presentation and video a lot since i started watching a little while back and was wondering if you could maybe share you pc specs? I have been working on my own stuff recently but have been having quality issues i know i'm needing an upgrade soon just wondering if i'm messing up on a setting of some sort
hey man, if you don't mind, hop in the discord and you can ask me all the questions you have about youtube, editing, whatever. No pressure to stay once you have the info. Link in the description
I did subscribe. You deserve it!
@homereel can you make on video about the Centennial? Im kinda struggling with this gun right now and think it can need some love
5:29 Wait what? Where is this option at? I was completely unaware there was a sound/range tester in game.
Go to the arsenal tab where you can see all the weapons (not the roster but specifically Arsenal) then select a weapon. At the bottom, click 3D view and scroll on your mouse
steady aim affects aperture sights. makes a huge difference.
steady aim does not apply to the nitro
I know this gun has to have downsides, and I appreciate that it does. But forcing the aperture sight feels like shit. It just does. Its literally $1000. It has 6 bullets. Just have the bead sight.
Gonna go on a limb here and say that if they had to add an unmovable aperture sight to the gun to make it less abusable, that its a BS weapon.
Is it only me or his voice is somehow kinda comforting
I have a buddy who exclusively uses the Nitro. He's incredibly obnoxious and toxic. God bless the dude he's top 100.
How did you not see those guys in darksight ? x)
I didn't have it and like 32 seconds before, the team said it was clear :(
@@HomeReel All Teamates Are Bastards
When we scanned they didn’t show up on dark sight. They must’ve been right outside the 150 metre boost range.
@@TheNitroNO2 Its okay, we gave them our pity nitros. We didn't want those anyway
its the one gun I can consistently get into 6 stars with but I run a lot of slug shotties and this is basically the ultimate slug shotgun that applies bleed lol
Lol
"the elites"
Proceeds to play with special ammo
More kung pow clips? Yes please.
It's okay HomeReel, lumpy has killed me too :(
