It could be due to their contracts, but I genuinely felt Zachary Levi's Shazam character had too much screen time. The cheesy jokes worked better when his appearance was limited, where him appearing had more impact. Quite a few of the heartwarming scenes, felt more appropriate to have Asher Angel's Billy Batson instead. The movie had too much Marvel style cheesiness and less heart than the first movie due to the excessive jokes, which is a problem that plagued Justice League when Josh Whedon took over. Personally, I prefer a DC movie that is not just another super cheesy film like Disney-Marvel's.
I loved Shazam: Fury of the Gods! It was great to have a movie that makes you grin from ear to ear but also knows drama and pathos. Yes, the Holding out for a Hero scene was my first laugh too, like the first gleeful scream on the start of a roller-coaster.
The only thing about the Shazam world Is that don’t do a good job of explaining the origins of the Villains like where did they come from what’s there back story and what’s there true motive what’s the personal story here
Agreed, one of the reasons the villains felt "one dimensional" was because we don't see any back story and we just get them when they are angry and become the villain of Shazam's story. It would've been really beneficial to have maybe even a flashback to when the powers got stolen and the impact it had on the Daughters of Atlas.

It pisses me off that they allow writers and producers just get away with such important parts to the characters of the film like wtf are they thinking when writing this movie ? As a massive fan of Chuck, who made a long running joke of obvious Subway product placement, I am super pumped for an over the top Skittles product placement.
I think Zachary Levi is perfect for the Shazam role ....dude has a good physique which fits superhero roles....too bad Warner brothers production not yet finalized this actor for next dceu events.....but it's not the fault of this movie or all crew members who worked hard behind this movie....they should be doing necessary marketing i think
