Ahh, the different lighting situations! Just to make sure I understand correctly, you use spot metering & spot/single point focus all the time but focus manually? Missing wildlife photo oops because looking at the rear screen & worse yet, turning away from the wildlife so I can see the rear screen, = GUILTY! Still shooting a D810 & want check focus to see if I need to take more so can move on to something different. But with that said, that’s when my favorite subjects usually fly off. Mark Smith I believe uses the lens control ring to adjust ISO as needed which makes sense if using a mirrorless camera where one can see the exposure live in the EVF. I function to slow to manually focus for wildlife changing the focal plane but will try when needed. So, getting back to the main question,, does the metering mode make a difference & do you use spot metering only & single/spot focus? Happy shooting , thanks for any replies & the video.
Good Morning! How are you? Yes I use single spot focus and spot metering. I does make a difference but I also do my metering based on where the sun light is coming from and the tonality of my subject. I use the spot meter to point out the mid grey.
I hope this helped. Please let me know if you need any more clarification. Best Ejaz
@ yes it did
