      You can see that this is shearing area sp upper circular cap is is contact with lower plate having hole so shearing area will be pi*d*t

      @@engradnanrasheedmechanical what formula is that? Why is not just normal area, base x height? Where is pi coming from? If there is pi, why is it not pi*r^2? Thanks!

      @abdallaelmaddah4865 because shear force acts on this shear area. In shear stress , we take shear Area which is parallel to shear force.
