"Image of Control (II)" from Sumac's "What One Becomes" album (2016).
I'm not into this kind of music at all, but the riff at 3:29 is amazing. It just sounds so damn heavy..
Anyway, couple of things I should say about the video/song : It's impossible to hear what note they play at the end. The bassist only has 4 strings, tuned to G#C#F#B. However, the actual note sounds much lower than the low G#. This will work I guess. Another thing is that I completely mess up during the playback at 3:16-3:18. What can i say? It's definitely not easy.
Some important information that nobody is going to read.
Tuning : G#-C#-F#-B
Artist : Sumac
Album : What One Becomes (2016)
Song : IMAGE OF CONTROL (II)
Bass : Warwick GPS Corvette 5A Ash
W cover, sumac and Aaron turner are so underrated!
Damn, can't believe that I hadn't seen this video until now! I'm a recent fan of Sumac, but have loved Aaron Turner's work since I was a teenager. I was just randomly going through your 5-string cover playlist, and almost broke my phone screen from clicking so hard when I realized that this video existed! The playing and tone are spot-on, as per usual. Would love to see more covers from more Aaron Turner bands, like Isis, Old Man Gloom, or more Sumac. Again, fantastic cover!
Thanks a lot! I uploaded this a looong time ago so it probably got lost in the stream of videos
holy crap yes
fuck yeah dude, i only just heard this song and wondered if there were any covers of it, great job as usual sir
Damn, you're lucky that somebody requested this on Patreon cause I never would've found this song I'm sure
awesome work, man. thanks for putting this up!
No problem!
Thanks man awesome work !!
Glad you liked it!
Fuck yes
is it possible to play this on a 4 string?
I don't think so no.. it's simply too low
Sumac's bassist uses a 4 string, you just have to set it up properly for that low G#.
Play a high G instead of a low G.
