Yaroslavl is twinned with Exeter in the UK, and when I was a teenager I had the privilege of visiting Yaroslavl as a member of Exeter Children's Orchestra. I had a wonderful time with a lovely host family in Yaroslavl and your video has brought back some great memories - thanks so much!
Great report, Kat! Yaroslavl is a very beautiful and ancient city. But being in Yaroslavl and not going to Rostov is reckless. In Rostov, there is a real Russian way of life and a white-stone Kremlin. Such as the Moscow Kremlin was before the 15th century.
I'll always have a soft spot for Yaroslavl as it's where the Rostovs evacuate to in War and Peace when Napoleon takes Moscow, and where Natasha and Prince Andrei are reunited. Perhaps they went for the Georgian food and pubs too!
Hi, the video is interesting to watch. In past videos, it was possible to include subtitles with translation, but this one has no subtitles, it's a pity. Add to the video the ability to include subtitles, it is interesting to read your impression of the trip to Jarochlavl.

@@petesmith6141 Thanks Pete for the clarification. I am intending to visit Russia as soon as possible and therefore would love to visit the golden ring cities when i am there.
Thank you for this video, Kat! I felt nostalgic about this city where I spent a couple of years long ago. But, really, you should find a better microphone to record your narration audibly and cutoff noises.
I advise you to visit Suzdal and Vladimir. These cities are close by. Suzdal has an interesting architecture museum, monastery and beautiful nature. Vladimir has a very beautiful view from the observation deck. And also there is not far the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. You have to go to this church across a huge field.

If you're smart you know that education is extremely cheap in eastern countries and you study abroad rather than being in debt for 30k and that debt grows over 100k if you don't pay back. (Majority of American student debts are never payed back and are transfered onto kids when the parent dies,at least that will the a norm by 2050 in USA) Many African students get their medical degrees in Russia because it's only 3-5k with housing, similar prices in Eastern Europe,I see a lot of African students here and no wonder, they get best soviet education, return back home and pass on the knowledge, become best doctors in their countries. This is also the case with medical tourism but it's done mostly by slavic migrants because westerners don't realize that they can get same tech, same quality but 100 cheaper healthcare in private clinics, and even if you aren't a citizen and break your leg or have a heart attack, our medical system won't change you a penny and treat you till you are fully recovered. White many Russian migrants in USA complain for paying 3k(with insurance) for MRI. Buying a ticket to Russia, staying there for a month and getting an MRI and other tests done is cheaper than paying western insurance+ %.

Consider visiting Kolomna. It is only 2 hours train ride from Moscow and has a very beautiful and historic old part of town with its own Kremlin.
