Africans always learn the hard way. The Leaders are not prepared to engage themselves in active politics, a kind of selfishness and betrayal to their Peoples.
Their destiny and success lies only in UNITY but the
LEADERS are not allowing this. This is a tragedy.
    AFRICA must UNITE!

Although the continent is in a precarious position today there's no denying that indeed, slowly but steadily, it's moving forward with a lot of growth in markets ranging from Agriculture,Banking & finance and even a growth in telecommunication and I.T. services
I'm very eager to see how the continents next generation of leaders will play their cards in the next 50 years

While that is true, the way things are going with the current leadership (in all regions) this growth is and will continue to be hampered...maybe even threatening future growth

@@ernestmungomakawa1682 Unfortunately you do raise a solid point.
But those leaders are mostly from post colonial eras and therefore have only their own interests in mind. let's hope the next generation can bring about change

@@bertranbelzor9037 By precarious position I mean that political/economic stability is under threat in most countries and it's this stability that determines whether the countries progress or decline. This may not be the case in every single country but I know it is with the majority of the them, all to some extent.

I can't contest your argument that I know is true. Nevertheless, I must add that the Main or Core issue with the Black Race as a whole is one of Leadership rather than stability because Instability can be activated from within as well as from outside. And it takes Nationalist Leaders to bring Stability. By Leadership, I mean one who's connected to the people, one who has the well-being of its people at heart. On that front, only the Black Race is devoid of Leaders. As strange as it may sound, 98% of Blacks Leaders are at the service of the Imperialist system which is the prime enemy of Blacks everywhere. Can you ever believe that in that shameful country Nigeria, the so-called biggest Economy in Africa (my foot !), the Police is acting just like the Fascist Police is doing in the United States against Blacks. For any conscious Black person like me, the situation in all Black Countries is very upsetting and depressing even though, as an educated person, I am trying to do my part by planting seeds who might bear fruit in a century or so. How come the Western Media dares talking trash about Possible Famine in Africa because of the war in Ukraine when Africa is home to 65% of Arable Land in the world. 65% ! Imagine that !!!

Besides exporting extra humans and collecting royalties on resource extraction? Very little besides some agricultural products.
But the life of subsistence farmers is valuable and still matters. They can live rich lives even if cash poor. They count even if they are barely counted in global economic terms.
It’s a very promising continent though and has pockets of innovation. Countries have challenges but many possible directions that they can take. Remember that Europe did not industrialize overnight.

Our elected leaders are wolf in sheep clothing and our judiciary is the blind shepherd. Europe had integrity and strong institutions that respected the rule of law.

No African flee the continent because Africa has not influence on issues of global importance
Millions who are said to be hungry in Somalia and on behalf of which millions of organizations ask for money are not in this situation because Africa remains far too narrow and marginalized on issues of global importance
Therefore, it is the wellbeing of peoples in Africa, an Africa where Africans at least can hope, where human fulfilment for all is facilitated, where people are free and in peace, etc are the issues of highest importance, the rest is mirage. We just can't be desperate with things like our influence on issues of global importance.
Look Russia and others are permanent members with right of veto at the UN Security Council, what is the role are they now playing on the issues of global importance in Ukraine and so on? Tell me.
We must be wise, humble. we must value the sense of restrain. It doesn't matter if us as Africa influence on issues of global importance remains far too narrow and marginalized as long as we can fulfil in Africa in freedom, peace.
No issue is of highest importance than the wellbeing of millions and millions in Africa.
