"...not a writer..."my FOOT! That was a sweet, well written story if I've ever heard one. Cam, YOUR gentle voice narrating this account just MADE it real (whether it REALLY was, or not). Hearing this reminded me of the feeling I'd get when listening to an episode of "The Waltons" on TV or watching the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes". Man, I LOVE this channel!!!

My 94 yr old mother, in a wheelchair with dementia, and I are listening to this as I prepare our Christmas Eve dinner. I'd love to believe it's a literal story, but if not, it doesn't really matter. If ever a story illustrated the Golden Rule, this is it. "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you", is a maxim to live by for us all. Thank you, Cam, for bringing it to us, and for reading it so perfectly. Merry Christmas to you and yours, including the critters. Love from Northern Arizona

WOW.. I mean WOW.. Cam I don't know who sent in that story, and I don't know if it's true or not. I'll start with if it's true... WOW! And whoever sent that in is an amazing writer. As for you Mr Buckner you are an amazing storyteller. You definitely know how to captivate an audience and put some emotion into a story. I absolutely love this one and it almost made me sad that it ended the way it did but what a realistic ending it was.

Cam, I don't know if this story is true or not, but it really doesn't matter. This was a well written, well narrated story of love, sadness, kindness and tragedy all rolled into one. It's one that I will be thinking about as I lay in bed tonight, wondering if Lissie is getting better, did the family ever talk about ALL the details of the event, is the creature still alive and suffering or has it passed on to the next world and is pain free now. And then, as I drop off to sleep.....I will wonder if it's true or not and just smile because this was a damn good story no matter what! Merry Christmas to you, your family and all of Our People. May your holidays be blessed with love and joy and may we all have a wonderful new 2023 filled with good things.

The Vet, his good friend, was pretty clear that there was nothing he could do for him. He also said he would probably not make it once winter set in. The Sasquatch was unable to run so wouldn't be able to hunt to support itself. It takes a lot of calories to keep an 800#, 8 foot animal going.

@@Bomber411Well Actually It Does. The Vet Saw A Badly Hurt & Dying Animal, Then Told His Friend In A Nice Way, That There Was Nothing That Could Be Done For It & Knew From All His Work Saving Animals That This Big Sasquatch Was Going To Die If It Already Wasn't In The Process.
So The Animal Dies Shortly After The First Frost Set In. Sure The Man May Have Fed It A Few More Times, Until One Saturday He Went To Drop Off The Weeks Groceries At The Usual Spot, Only Moved Closer As They Discussed. When He Got Out His Truck To Empty The Food. The Man Noticed A Big Hairy Arm Sticking Out From A Bush & Willows. He Slowly Walked Over To See The Behemoth Fantastically Ugly Beautiful Creature Who Saved His Daughter, Laying On It's Back Deceased, Only With Eye's Wide Open As If Still Starring At The Stars, Just As It Did Every Night 🌙 Sleeping Under God's Blanket Of Stars & Wonderment...
THE Question I Have After Hearing This Great Story True Or Not, IS THAT DID THE SASQUATCH POSSIBLY GET HIS INJURY WHEN IT RAN TOWARDS THE TRUCK & POSSIBLY COLLIDED WITH IT PRIOR TO THE TREE? Maybe It Wasn't An Really Old Injury & Arthritis? But Rather A New Great Sacrifice Inorder To Save Lissie, The Young Women Instead! The Vet Wouldn't Be Able To Tell If It Was Suffering From Arthritis From Old Injury, VS A Freshly Broken Hip & A Few Broken Ribs, As Reason For Struggling To Breath? I GUESS WE WILL NEVER EVER KNOW WILL WE CAM?

This is what anyone would call a conundrum or moral dilemma. The heart of man is desperately wicked, but the spirit of truth teaches us to stop & consider things. I felt several things hearing this history. Anguish, nausea, sadness, humor, acceptance, despair and futility. I admire the love & concern the Dad had for all involved. I identified with the misjudgements and the later readjusting after discovering facts. I can't say I would do better. I bless thee for sharing this thought provoking record of events. One never knows what's coming to him & thing don't always turn out as expected, huh? 🙏😍❤️ Grace

It never ceases to amaze me how the carriage of animals far surpasses that of most human beings. To think that an animal that was in that much pain, having difficulty breathing and still put someone else before itself; just shows you how much humans could learn about compassion and empathy. If only most humans would treat each half a well as the sasquatch did for the young girl, this world would be a much kinder place. Makes me wonder if Lizzy had any prior interactions with the creature, that he knew where she lived and obviously must have seen her swimming. Maybe she herself noticed that her was hurt and gave him food. His helping her was a repayment for her kindness towards it. Maybe she didn't tell her parents for the same reason he was afraid to tell his friend.

Well, given some of the glowing experiences and positive stories we’ve heard in the past, I don’t doubt the authenticity of this one - it’s just that every now and again, an encounter story happens so be submitted by someone with an exceptional Gift for storytelling AND who probably excelled in their English classes! Personally, I find it strange how people can be 75-90% literate. You either do it or you don’t. But maybe I’m ignorant. Seems as though the combination of engaging storytelling (or, relating of an experience) and proper English is a rare gift these days. Just look at some of these “comment encounters” people leave. “I seen a booigier it was back inn the 70s it was st my aunts house we all seen that thing out the windaw”, no spellcheck, bad grammar and worst, a whole paragraph sentence… it’ll be a sad day if we start disbelieving folks with actual skills and the “gift of the gab”!

Thank you Cam! That was the best story I’ve ever heard you narrate. The tears filled my eyes as pulled into my driveway. I just sat there pondering the nuances of this amazing tale. It took several minutes before I could head inside. Wow!!! I know that I don’t hit the “like” button near enough. I’m so busy powering through your stories and getting caught up in the moment that the “like” button doesn’t even cross my mind. I will remedy this oversight!!! Thank you so much! God Bless you and your Family.

What a fantastic story and one that I hope is true. To think that the Big Guy knew who was good and who was bad is incredible. Then, to take the girl somewhere to get help from "her kind" is phenomenal. I will forever think of this story. I hope that all involved are healing or have recovered. I hope that the Big Guy is at peace and not in pain. Beautiful story. 😍

MAN, what a great story. You did a great job narrating it, too.
I always love it when you get these long stories and narrate them for us. I forget that you are just editing them and reading them to us.
You have a great knack with reading something as if it's your own and putting all the care, passion, and emotion into them.
I truly appreciate you, Cam. I love telling stories as I did many times while serving in the military and being deployed.
I read a lot, and folks would ask me to tell them of what I was reading, and I would do it in the manner that you did, except I used voices, lol.
Thanks for bringing that good feeling back, and thanks for the entertainment. It is great to be on the other side of a good storyteller 😉😊

This is the one, Cam. This is the story I shall come back to repeatedly. Beautifully written and narrated, it has touched a place in my soul and, whether true or not, it is the story I know I will carry inside forever. Sometimes it is the quietest stories that speak to us the loudest and this is definitely one of those times. Thank you for not just sharing it but for providing it a platform to be heard also.
Wishing you, yours and all your listeners a very happy Christmas from a quiet man in a quiet town in merry(?) old England x
