The hurry construction button is visible like a second after you say the mechanic doesn't exist. Hurrying construction is a pretty key mechanic for advanced play, at 1-2 turns left it is usually quite cheap and you can commonly have enough to hurry + add the next item to the queue. There's also a few buildings in various tomes that make hurrying cheaper.
When you fulfill a quest and claim a reward in draft, knowledge, production or whatever, do you get the overflow from something that was nearly finished anyway, or do you just get the next thing complete and items in the queue begin fresh?
8:55, wrong, the evil 'bad' events are just as good as the good ones, they are called 'bad' events due to alignment, but the decisions and outcomes of those events are still good for your faction overall, for example a good light alignment character gains city stability if it decides to help free states during the event but looses city stability if they chose an evil/bad action. This is the opposite for evil characters, the decision to help leads to stability loss while the decision to ignore or take advantage improves your stability. This is because the events and rewards are generated and based on your alignment so for evil factions, doing evil deeds is accepted and gets rewarded while good factions accepts only good helping deeds and punishes the others.
Yeah, it didn’t make sense to me that choosing to be evil would come with such a negative consequence, so thanks for this comment, it definitely clarifies one of the things I hadn’t yet played with or seen anyone talk about.
Are you sure? I feel like "positive" and "negative" don't mean "good" and "evil" and that it's a game balance thing: jerkwad behavior against other civs (evil activity) makes it easy to ignore politics and all-in on warfare but it seems like they're punishing it by giving events with worse outcomes to civs who go evil. Otherwise, they'd have said "Good" not "Positive", right?
@@GoodEggGuy It's almost that. But here is the thing. ALL events, positive or negative, will have beneficial aspects. The thing is, that negative events have some heavy benefits for a great cost (like your city draft goes to 0 for 4 turns)
I stopped the video to comment on it, but since Pravus is one of the folks they got to do part of the tutorial series on the official channel, and he’s there with a couple of my favorite 4x content creators-Potato McWhiskey and JumboPixel-so I’m sure he knows his shit and just missed it, that’s all.
The tier 4 tome Golden Realm has a spell that gives a discount to rushing building construction gold cost and allows an extra rush per turn in the city.
That’s a good tip. But also that’s a T4 tome, so it’s gonna be a minute before you can pick it up, lol. I think the Empire Progression path for…can’t remember the name of the affinity…the diamond one…Materium or something…anyway, I think that line has a lot of discounts of that nature.
Might I suggest a video on tips on how to progress through your tomes research? Strategies like going only one element, mixing elements, advantages of taking lots of low tier tomes, advantages of focusing on higher tier tomes, and how this all affects your empire skills. Potatomcwhiskey already did a video focusing on the tomes, but I'd say that the how and why beneath the obvious spells is quite an interesting topic to pursue.
@@FilmTrippyX Wizard King is the only way. But you're not forced to create a magician! Champion or Wizard King only influences some bonuses. It is not a rule
The first tip is wrong. Firstly, boosting construction does not reduce the cost by half. Reducing a cost from 60 to 42 is clearly not a 50% reduction (its 30%). Secondly, you can still rush production with gold.
I played my first full game Friday and yesterday... I lost... I was ahead in Economy and Expansion, but our military score tanked in the siege even though we ground the Elves into nutrient paste. In the final stages I got my Military score back to the top but it was too late. All I can say is I had a total blast even though I lost and Great Realmslayer Brimm Trollhunter was deprived Godhood! Oh I fully intend to just make a Skaven race. I think the customizability of this game intends for you to be able to recreate your favorite Fantasy race/trope/society.
Yes, that's the whole point and I love it. I made a female grimgor that ended up more terrifying than grimgor himself by giving up to the forces of hell and turning everyone in the faction and grimgor girl herself into a demon that healed everyone on kill...
This was REALLY helpful, the tutorial mentions NOTHING about using Whispering Stones to boost your own towns, and the fact you can just MAKE vassal states at will? As someone who like the diplomatic aspects of this game I really want to make use of that. I only knew a few other things from my few sessions and playing the previous game. With the sparse in-game encyclopedia and the barren wiki this is a great addition.
One useful tip for those evil factions lovers like me, you'll have a hard time finding a way to improve your city stability (other than using a stone as shown in this video). But by leveling your town hall to lvl 3 I believe, you get access to a building that removes stability penalties for your city.
You don't get benefits from multiples of the same magical resource, so there isn't much point to get more then 1 astral dew for instance. There is a benefit to getting all three of a type of magical resource, so it behooves you to gather at least 1 of each and spreading the love to your allies if you get more....for a price.
There's one thing that you do benefit from. I forget what it is. I think it gives you like Research per total Magic Resources. I don't know if it's SUPPOSED to function that way, but currently it does.
