From Marseille to St. Tropez, this is a hot and sunny region, regularly swept by a strong wind where many grape varietals coexist: Cinsault, Mourvedre, Grenache, Syrah and Tibouren for the reds and rosés; Rolle, Clairette, Ugni Blanc and Semillon for the whites.


Above all else, Provence is known for its rosé wines, tasted on the Mediterranean coast in the summer and representing almost 90% of their production.
But are certain appellations such as Bandol, where we find great red wines, capable of aging...

Mourvèdre is THE grape of Bandol, like a macho Latino in a silk dress blowing kisses. In southern France, as elsewhere, the 'terroir' does the work as the vintner relaxes with a glass of rosé in hand.
But this romantic image doesn't last long before the enormous task performed at Chateau Pibarnon paint over the old picture to present vineyards producing red wines now ranked among the top 100 wines in the world.
