hi, i need urgently to know how to choose only 2 category out of 4 to compare. that is poorer and richer women but my values are poorer, richer, poorest , richest and compare the poorer and richer to the corresponding weight.

If you only want to see some of the categories, you can click on the 'Element properties' when making the box plot, then click on 'X-Axis 1 (Box1)' and the different categories should then be listed in the 'Order:' field. You can then click any of the categories you want to exclude and move it to the 'Excluded' part (or click on the red cross).
Alternatively you can select only those two categories before making the box plot. In that case you go in the menubar for Data and then Select Cases, then choose 'if condition is satisfied' and click on if, then move the variable to the right and specify the code for richest, then add OR and do the same for poorest (so for example if the variable is called income, and richest = 1 and poorest = 4, then you would get something like income=1 OR income=4). In the data view the cases with different results will now be crossed out and when performing any analyses those will be ignored. So you can then create the box-plot. Don't forget to go back and select all cases if you want to include them in other analyses.
However if you wish to combine two categories into one (for example combine richer + richest, and poorer + poorest), then you will first have to create a new variable with those two options (rich and poor), you could use the Transform - Recode into Different Variable for this.
      Hope this resolved your issue.
