This was composed by Hugh Martin, the same guy who wrote "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." It's a great song and brings back nice warm memories from when I was a kid.
Two years ago I'd never heard this song before. But it's zoomed out of nowhere to become one of my favorite yuletide tunes. Around November it gets in my head and I can't shake it loose until mid-January.
I remember listening to this song as a child in the mid 70's. My family had one of those big console stereos - AM/FM, turntable and - 8-track! They still have it!! The turntable needs a needle. The 8-track likes to eat the tapes. Yeah, they still have some of those tapes but the AM/FM still works, and so does the amplifier! You connect an external device to the RCA connectors, and . . .. well, you just can't beat the sound!!
been working at home depot for 13 years. muzaks finest. from black friday till new years nothing but xmas carols. sammy davis does kill this track. great song!
Talk about bring back a memory! My folks have an album although it's worn down that they got from Goodyear (dad must have bought some tires), and this Sammy Davis Jr song was on the album. Also Andy Williams "O Holy Night", Diahane Carroll "Lo How a Rose O'er Blooming/Some Children See Him" Doris Day "Silver Bells". Reminds of time when I had no real responsibilities, & the year seemed pass so slow. Now I'm older, years pass fast, & I have much responsibilities.
I just heard this song played a couple times at Universal Studios Hollywood yesterday while having breakfast and I just had to listen to the lyrics very carefully to Google up the lyrics for the title and artist of this song because it was my first time hearing it! So glad I found this song!
My favorite song to this day listening to my grandparents' records! I find this video every year to have on replay since other music platforms don't have this song.
This has to be hands down the coolest Christmas song I've heard in a while. I had my Ipod on shuffle and this came on, I was blown away with Sammy's Smooth vocals and a great message! Love It!!!
This will be my theme for my Christmas tree this year. I remember I have old international dolls put away. I have to order bunting national flags ang ribbons with flags. It'll be a nice touch after the world had been affected with this pandemic.
A wonderful holiday song! Sammy Davis brought warmth and style to every song he performed. I also recommend: The Spirit of Christmas by John Starley Allen (new version)

Heard this on UCentral radio the other day, the college station in Edmond, OK which plays a great mix, and Shazamed it. Now I'm here. Such a happy tune.

Sammy Davis, Jr. may have been short in stature, but he sure made up with his robust and talented voice! RIP Sammy!
If I may add, talented dancer, actor, AND a very talented drummer! R.I.P. to a great all-around entertainer!

You did not have to buy tires to get the album. The mono one was 99 cents and the stereo pressing was $1.99.
