Now you see the difference in Lucy from age 16 to age 20. At 16, she had a very developed upper register and a pretty good lower register. By age 20, her lower register had developed further and in her live version she dipped more in her lower register than she did in the earlier studio version. She is top notch in my world.

'Sweet sixteen' as they say. Personally I would revisit Lucy's catalogue in an age-related order, which is not the method that I pursued. It gives one the understanding that although there is the inevitable transition of the voice form pre-teen to adult, the basic facets of her talents and skills were already present and her training and work ethic moulds them into virtuosity.
Lucy is a gift from God for all of us, and for this era. That's how I look at it, and so do many others. Your reaction was priceless! I highly recommend her cover of "Unchained Melody" to be high up on your next reaction list, and her duet with Martha of "Mary Did You Know?"
