    The 2022 World Cup quarter final game between Argentina and Holland wasn’t just a battle of battles, having had the most yellow cards in World Cup history, but for a game full of events, including an iconic celebration, a huge fight between both teams, four goals; two on each side, a last minute equalizer, AND a penalty shootout, one specific incident stood out of ALL these events, Messi deliberately touching the ball with his hand to try to regain possession. Critics said he should’ve gotten a yellow card for the incident, or worse, should’ve even been sent off.
    Messi’s handball brought back memories of a 1986 World Cup game, also in the quarter finals, between Argentina and England. The game included maybe thee most controversial goal in football history, when Diego Maradona scored, what he himself would later describe as; La mano de Dios goal. Spanish for "The hand of God". The goal should not have stood, because Maradona scored it using his hand. And for a game that ended in a 2-1 Argentina victory - after Maradona scored another historic goal - the hand of God goal clearly helped Argentina win that game....

      From the loss in the first game against Saudi Arabia to the Martinez last second save, and to everything in between. Indeed, it was destiny.

      Yes, Messi winning the WC was already decided for him before he was even born. After the 1986 WC triumph, Maradona is seen in a photo image of him being hoisted in the air with the WC trophy in one hand and in the other hand he is pointing to the Qatar national flag. It is said that Maradona in this image predicted Messi's victory. Messi was born in 1987

      @@SolomonChristians I did not know that! But that is one heck of an interesting observation. Whether it’s true or not, Messi was destined to one, and his triumph in the WC is one of the greatest things to ever happen in sports.

    no major effect on play what are you saying it gave argentina an attacking possibillity that otherwise would´ve been an atticking possibilaty for the netherlands stop glazing messi he spiked an ball like some volleyball player thats an yellow everytime if its done on purpose no matter the plays learn the rules bro if messi went of that would´ve meant they needed an new captain and messi scored an penalty so if it were anybody else taking that they might have missed. and noone is comparing maradonna to messi bro stop comparing diffrent games and just look at the game itself not other world cup games not maradonna games from a long time ago the refs are diffrent every game you should know that so one game has nothing to do with another one.

      Your comment is full of anticipations and what ifs, whereas the video covered actual facts that went down. It's a fact that there was no promising attack for neither team, and thus "no major effect on play". It's a fact that the referee pulled out the yellow card more than any other ref in the entire history of the World Cups, and thus would've given a yellow card to Messi if he deserved it. Or do you know the rules better than experienced referee Lahoz?! Also, it's a fact that Argentina beat Holland and France through a penalty shootout, and so any other player would've successfully taken a penalty shootout if Messi wasn't there (assuming that Messi is dumb enough to get a second yellow card, which he's not because he's the GOAT). Finally, if you don't see a similarity in the Messi and Maradona handballs, then that's fine. But a lot of other people do.

    It was absolutely scandalous, when he didn't get ANYTHING for that blatant foul
    Paredes must have gotten the second yellow as well
    Argentina was absolutely shamelessly carried by the referees in that game, it was obvious and disgusting

    • @ahmedelaroussi
      @ahmedelaroussi  3 месяца назад +4

      It was a handball in the midfield area with no effect whatsoever on play. And the Paredes shot hit an empty bench without possibly harming anyone.
      Absolutely no way referee Lahoz would carry Messi and Argentina. The guy is speculated to be a Real Madrid fan. And a foul that led to an equalizer in the final seconds is proof he wouldn’t favor Argentina.
      Argentina was the better team that night. Period.
