I moved to Eagle in 2020 and perhaps my biggest downside is the helicopter traffic at all hours of the night. Also, even though Eagle is about 12 miles from BOI, you do get multiple jets per day heading north west. I've gotten use to it, but it is something to consider if you are sensitive to air traffic noise.

Where is the best place to live far away from the air traffic noise in the Treasure Valley area?

Eagle reminds me of Irvine-OC California!

Driving around, some places in Eagle are really rundown. Houses built in 1970's and not maintained.

I retire next February and Eagle is my #1 choice. I'm from the East Bay, California (I vote red), and I hate everything about CA except the weather. My only concern is my better half isn't completely on board with moving. I got plenty of equity on my current house, so cost isn't a huge issue. I've been to Idaho a few times and it feels like home, to me at least. I saw a few homes in Legacy, that place is amazing. We'll see what happens.

Keith. So nice to have you watching! Keep in touch and we can help you and your other half walk through the process. Maybe a visit sometime and we can show you around.

@@PaulFrankos I retire in 28 days (not that I'm counting). I haven't committed to moving yet. I'm trying to decide if I should move before my daughter graduates HS or wait until she finishes. She's a Freshman...

The problem is that Eagle, Boise, and most of the state are growing way too fast. I lived in Idaho in the early 80s. I have been through Eagle when it was just a few thousand people. It has grown by a factor of 10 or more since then! The whole state was less than a million people back then. Growth is not necessarily bad but it is harmful when it is too fast. People move from more populated states and bring not only the traffic, smog, and congestion but their values as well. Pretty soon it becomes just like what they left. If I went back to Idaho today, I probably would not recognize it. I currently live in New Mexico. We have growth also but it has been relatively slow and steady.
