    Can do it in the real piano but I cba to learn the whole piece for months

      I think if i were to take months to learn something (learning, not mastering it), i would start smaller and try again in half a year or so. You always make learning for any piece a lot easier whenever learning something new. While there sure are more efficient ways of going about it, like actually sticking to something much harder then what you could do so far (But tbh who the hell could keep up motivation for so long.) i think this is one way of doing it. Try now, if theirs no way you can learn(not master) it in under a month at least, try something a bit easier and go back to it in a few months.
      This take (might) be true for my skill lvl but im sure many much more skilled players would disagree because some pieces just seem to go a lot beyond the what seems to be the "skill cap" of themselves (improvement becomes sooo little noticeable overtime), so no matter how long you played, you still really need to get into it to actually learn that piece, and that might be months or even years
