343-Studios should make an entire new Halo-franchise which is based only on space-battles yet with campaign/skirmish/multiplayer, and release it for the following platforms 'Xbox-One/PS4/PC'...yet the players even be able to upgrade and purchase thier space-crafts and even be able to add the players personal-emblems to thier aerial-space-craft-ships while at space-dockyard-animation-menu's; with missions and battles taking place in both obviously space and also in aeril-to-ground-bombardment-operations, it would bring the Halo-universe to an all outstanding new level...they should think about it. :)
+Isaac Hoover they do, they just teased infection and teased Halo wars 2 last year (a game wanted by many fans) they put in Grifball, fiesta and Assault adding in a mantis that shoots gauss rounds (i think thats what its called, correct me if i'm wrong) Warzone FIREFIGHT!! and the most important part, plasma rifle
I'm honestly so happy someone took the time to animated this battle. It was so pivotal to the story yet so brushed over and barely acknowledged at all, seem as it's only really shown from chiefs perspective on Cairo, which is okay but still. Huge, completely missed opportunity.
Heres some food for thought. Mass effects most powerful/long ships (1 kilometer Dreadnoughts) most powerful weapons launch 20 kilogram slugs at 2000 miles per second (With a 38 kiloton yield) . There are only 89 dreadnoughts in ME (Only 8 are human). Halo ODP's launch 3000 ton tungsten rounds at 8000miles per second, and deal 60 GIGATON yields (60,000,000) kilotons. It sounds freakin ridiculous, but it may explain why EVERY FLEET in the mass effect galaxy literally shot the shit out of 300 soverign class reapers (2 kilometers tall), and all of their rounds were doing as much damage as a bb gun (WATCH the cutscene on youtube). I can guarantee that a single ODP MAC would tear through several reapers in one hit. 60 Gigatons is WAY more powerful than entire volleys of 38 kiloton mass effect rounds.
+Shipmaster Rtas Vadum It takes such fire power to destroy a reaper due to the metal they are made from. It is not a metal that has been discovered by humans or any other race in the ME universe but it is super dense and resistant to damage. Some reapers also have some form of shielding and through using ME fields they can lower the mass of objects around them. They are weak at points though, watch the final battle in ME 3 and you see they blast the legs off a few reapers with relative ease, just front facing they are too strong.
Well, when your rounds are only a few kilotons worth of explosive force, of course it would take forever to destroy one. 50 Gigatons is a lot higher than a few kilotons. Also, the Forerunners had weapons that could cut off a section of a planets crust and slam it back down on the planet.
There's a homeworld Halo mod that's really cool. Homeworld is basically a game about space battles. The mod lets you play as the humans or covenant, create and battle canon Halo ships, and play at Halo locations. You can play at installation 04, Reach, and a bunch of other cool places. It's pretty hard if you're a first timer, but there are some awesome RUclips videos about it.
The Prophet of Truth knew, he just decided not to tell Regret, to understand what I mean you need to read Halo: First Strike which describes a mission carried out by the surviving Spartans to sabotage a Covenant fleet meant to strike Earth and buy the UNSC Home Fleet more time to prepare.
Yah he's right after the events on halo 1 chief went back to reach, met up with what's left of Red Team, did a bunch of stuff with a forerunner crystal that isn't significant to the battle of earth, and then red team was sent an a mission that nearly cut in half the covenants forces before the battled for earth, at which point truth concluded that Earth was the humans home planet because of their desperate attempt to sever the fleet.
That's not right the Halcyon was retired because of budget cuts, though its honeycomb shaped design was superior (giving it greater hull support and density) it's still 50+ year old design and obsolete because of its lack of maneuverability. The Pillar of Autumn was the last one in service and it was brought back into service after retirement because it was the only ship available to give Keyes.
Those weren't Halcyon class ships, they were Marathon-class heavy cruisers. They look very similar (all the heavy UNSC ships have the same basic shape) but they're much larger.
***** The Infinity was hidden on the very edges of the Sol system. If it had moved into action with its new MAC cannons, the Battle of Earth would've been more of a slaughter for the Covenant than a real battle, so yes and no doesn't count. It's a definite *NO.* And I'm not sure if your comment supports the presence of Halcyons, but, there were definitely no Halcyon-class light cruisers in the Home Fleet and right after the Battle of Earth, the Home Fleet was decimated with only a tiny number of ships remaining, presumably crippled Marathon-class heavy cruisers and dozens of light and heavy frigates (Charon-class and Paris-class). There were definitely no Autumn-class heavy cruisers in the Home Fleet (You mentioned the Song of the East, an Autumn-class, but it wasn't even built by then). The Autumn-class heavy cruisers boast enough firepower to force a Covenant fleet to turn tail.
-Stealer-L1F3 Actually, no. According to this: halo.wikia.com/wiki/UNSC_Infinity Infinity was built after the end of the war, and didn't go into service until 2553, almost a year after the war's end. It had not yet been built when the First Battle of Earth occurred,
***** The wikia mentions nothing of that, so my point stands. The Infinity was still awaiting its Forerunner engines by the end of 2552 and it was stationed *one light-year away from Sol, in the Oort Cloud.*
***** Uh... what? Did you mean that the PoA was featured in Halo 2? Don't make me laugh! It was present only in Halo: CE and Halo: CEA as well as Halo Wars (a short appearance over Arcadia).
This was during halo 2. The Autumn was destroyed. Plus the battle was over earth meaning that they could have built more. On last point. Earth is the beginning of humanity it's self, why wouldn't the U.N.S.C have almost all there fleets protecting it. Earth's the U.N.S.C's home base. It's going to be overly protected with everything the U.N.S.C has.
I know, I said they could. But not all Halcyon's where sent out to Harvest, Reach, and the other colonies. So there has to be a couple of fleet's of left orbiting Earth. A couple being two. But you're right in some aspect. After the Covenant attacked Earth, The whole half of the Covenant fleet, the half under the command of the brutes and truth, they returned to Earth to: "Finish what they started." A.K.A travel to the Ark via the forerunner slip-space portal emitter buried under the now glassed New Mombasa. So when the Brute fleet returned to Earth then they wiped-out basically the whole U.N.S.C fleet over Earth. Leaving 6 Halcyon class cruisers left.
Nicholas LaRock, you are REALLY wrong. It is stated in "Halo: Fall of Reach" that at the time of the Battle for Reach, the pillar of Autumn was one of the six remaining Halcyon fucking cruisers left IN THE ENTIRE UNSC FLEET, BEFORE the battle for Earth. Like I said, the ship type had been moth balled due to how expensive it was to make but made for a great defenseive ship. Hell, the Autumn had been so suped up that it managed to take out I think it was 8 whole covenant ships on its own, where as normal UNSC vessels need to have three of them against one covenant ship.
Dakota Mertens Well then I have a fuzzy memory. I'm sorry. No need to swear and caps. I'm still having a hard time finding my old halo books in my storage unit. You're probably right, but I was just sharing what I presumed happened (That I did read but am a littl.... *Ahem* I am "really" fuzzy on the details.) It's been a while. And thanks to you I learned from this. I learned that there where actually 6 Halycon class cruisers that manged to survive the Fall of Reach. Maybe now it's 5, counting the events of Installation 04.
Good video although my only gripe is the MAIN weapon on all of those ships are the MAC cannons which I don't see used until a light frigate charges forward to fire at a cruiser? Those heavy cruisers would have/should have opened up with the MACs early on.
Paul Castillo MACs are the primary shield-buster weapons, so you are wrong. The typical UNSC tactic is to fire a salvo of MAC slugs, then finish the enemy ships with a combination of a hundred missiles and MAC slugs.
What Forerunner fleet? I didn't say anything about Forerunners being involved. Presently where the Halo story arc is, there haven't been any fleet engagements that humanity has encountered. Ideally, the most significant and major battles in space we're during the human-covenant war, and maybe a few during the insurrection. If a game is developed for space battles, it should be centered around 2494 to 2552.
***** Before 2552 the UNSC hadn't fought any Forerunner ships. In Halo 4 there was only the Didact's ship which really isn't much to go on right now. The spaces during the human-covenant war are more interesting anyway and would have more potential.
Actually, the Infinity would destroy a super carrier in one shot. It is the only ship capable in the UNSC fleet to be able to punch holes through forerunner shields and armor.
I think what made the Older halos better is the fact that Humans were weak and being killed easily by the covenant and just being able to overcome there superiority just felt awesome.

People, remember that he is restricted to the capabilities of the CryEnginge 2 sandbox system, what it can't handle he can't put into the animation. It's actually pretty awesome what he was able to squeeze out of it.
Master Chief truly is the ultimate badass. Those larger ships with the bulbous front ends are CAS class crusiers (5.3 kilometers long), and Chief pretty much single handedly destroyed one in Halo 2 Cairo station.
WOW the covie fleet was correct!!! They had 2 CAS-class assualt carriers, 13 CCS class battle-cruisers. The fleet was called the Fleet of Sacred Consecration. It was led by The High Prophet of Regret onboard the CAS class flagship Solemn Penance. Great Job!!!
Overall nice video, love the work you've done here. Only thing I noticed that really bothered me was the distancing. That's a good portrait of what that battle would look like, just with a lot more space between the UNSC and covenant ships.

@@343TheSentient Thank you so much! I love the UNSC so much Hopefully this grows into something! Pretty much Command focuses with the banished conflict altough we must not forget UEG Citizens too! Have a Nice Day! COMMAND OUT. UNSC.
you are correct, for this specific engagement at earth, but shortly after regret left, 700 covenant ship came out of slip-space to attack earth, at reach there was only 300 covenant ships. as a whole, earth was the largest battle of the war
not to mention there were still quite a bit of orbital stations left which blew up a lot of the first "Big" fleet, and i'm imagining quite a few more survived due to the fact that the ONI station wasn't founded a month later after the battle of new mombassa (As you see in Halo ODST) and the fact that in halo 4 you see a few Halcyon cruisers and a bunch of paris class frigates in the opening movie. (They might have been in critical reserves or a mothball fleet, who knows).
The Battle of Reach was by far the largest engagement. At least in terms of significance. The first battle for Earth was a mere cake run compared to Reach. But goodjob and interesting idea. keep it up :)

343-Studios should make an entire new Halo-franchise which is based only on space-battles yet with campaign/skirmish/multiplayer,
and release it for the following platforms 'Xbox-One/PS4/PC'...yet the players even be able to upgrade and purchase thier space-crafts
and even be able to add the players personal-emblems to thier aerial-space-craft-ships while at space-dockyard-animation-menu's;
with missions and battles taking place in both obviously space and also in aeril-to-ground-bombardment-operations,
it would bring the Halo-universe to an all outstanding new level...they should think about it. :)
I would love that
king karper
My friend wrote that! But yeah its a pretty awesome idea haha :p
That would be awesome but too bad 343i doesn't listen to us Halo fans
+Isaac Hoover they do, they just teased infection and teased Halo wars 2 last year (a game wanted by many fans)
they put in Grifball, fiesta and Assault
adding in a mantis that shoots gauss rounds (i think thats what its called, correct me if i'm wrong)
Warzone FIREFIGHT!!
and the most important part, plasma rifle
that will be cool, but only for Xbox. Fuck ps4! why should they get halo?
I'm honestly so happy someone took the time to animated this battle. It was so pivotal to the story yet so brushed over and barely acknowledged at all, seem as it's only really shown from chiefs perspective on Cairo, which is okay but still. Huge, completely missed opportunity.
The most awesome part about this is that the guy continued to animate the ships, even when they were out of the camera's field of view!
3:18 great screenshot for a background
Ryan Archuleta Thing is that the ships where moving towards that mac guns to witch means the volicites would be even higher.
Also, the Forerunners had weapons that could cut off a section of a planets crust and slam it back down on the planet.
its pretyy anoying. thos "star wars vs halo" "halo vs mass effect" " star trek vs star wars" are a stupd waste of time
I made a giant paragraph about who would win in a battle, on ground and space, might have been a waste of time, but I loved doing it
It'd be cool if one of the many Halo Companies made it so theres a mission where you fly around in a Longsword in a epic Space Battle. I'd love that.
you mean like in halo reach but bigger?
Yeah, but in stead a Longsword and a epic space battle between UNSC and the Covenant.
-Reads 2 words- I know what Homeworld is...
Alan V oceanofgames.com
Its sad to know there will never be anything more epic than this.
This is why i respect all the human personal i see in the game
1 Million views! Thanks everyone
The end of halo 3 dialogue master chief 😂
funny thing the covenant did not know this was earths home planet
***** well they done fucked up
Chase Dimmer Well Truth just saved humanity
Earths home planet? Lol what the fuck is that supposed to mean. You mean humans home planet dumbfuck.
I heard star wars sonic detonators explosion sounds
am i the only one who watched this when i was a kid? (this was one of the videos that made me a space fan)
Same
Blows my mind how far animation has come in just the last few years...
It's a definite *NO.*
And I'm not sure if your comment supports the presence of Halcyons, but, there were definitely no Halcyon-class light cruisers in the Home Fleet and right after the Battle of Earth, the Home Fleet was decimated with only a tiny number of ships remaining, presumably crippled Marathon-class heavy cruisers and dozens of light and heavy frigates (Charon-class and Paris-class).
According to this: halo.wikia.com/wiki/UNSC_Infinity
Infinity was built after the end of the war, and didn't go into service until 2553, almost a year after the war's end. It had not yet been built when the First Battle of Earth occurred,
*****
The wikia mentions nothing of that, so my point stands.
Way too many Halcyon Class Cruisers there. Pretty sure there were only about 6 Left in the entire fleet, including the Autumn.
They wouldn't build more of a class of starship deeemed to expensive and thus was mothballed.
Because MACs are largely useless against sheilds, when the sheilds drop on ships they use them.
Paul Castillo MACs are the primary shield-buster weapons, so you are wrong. The typical UNSC tactic is to fire a salvo of MAC slugs, then finish the enemy ships with a combination of a hundred missiles and MAC slugs.
Somebody never read the novels or played the first game...
-Stealer-L1F3 Alright then,I was just taking things off the wiki.
Paul Castillo What I said was from the wiki.
Without the MACs, there is no other way the UNSC could lower the shields, unless they send nukes.
This was awesome
wow man this on another level, it was great and I really enjoyed it, I simply loved everything.
They must make a Halo games featuring all the space battles.
Look up the Sins of a solar empire. Sins of the Prophets.
*****
Before 2552 the UNSC hadn't fought any Forerunner ships. In Halo 4 there was only the Didact's ship which really isn't much to go on right now. The spaces during the human-covenant war are more interesting anyway and would have more potential.
My bad. Seems like you were talking to me when I was notified of the replied comment.
Play Freespace 2 and make a Halo mod ;)
*hectically launches all firestorm interceptors*
jojo1234 there called longswords.
Brock Cherry
*giggles in x-com*
Eh,even in halo 4 the covenant have better ships,a super carrier can decimate a infinity anyday, and they had several dozen super carriers.
Nope. Infinity has main character spartans. Spartans never die, main characters don't either.
Stuart Toda Main characters do,look at halo:reach, your own character even dies.
True, however, int he overall plot of the halo franchise, six wasn't very important.
Besides, Infinity has forrunner tech. It also carries ten frigates and has laser projecters.
Actually, the Infinity would destroy a super carrier in one shot. It is the only ship capable in the UNSC fleet to be able to punch holes through forerunner shields and armor.
I think what made the Older halos better is the fact that Humans were weak and being killed easily by the covenant and just being able to overcome there superiority just felt awesome.
thank u for this recreation. im usen my wifes youtube account. ive been a major halo fan since the begaining halo ce. im proud of this. never would ive thought i would be so intangled with this series. bungie u have singlehandely handed a gamming gem that we all can say we're proud 2 be playn. epic and glorys as it is its a story like no other or gameplay.
This is the thing halo wars needed to be the best game ever in my opinion SPACE BATTLES!
That was some amazing animation!
Now that H2A is out, I'd appreciate a remake with updated graphics :)
This would be awesome if it had Halo Reach graphics
Sir, words can not describe the pure epicness of this. If Chuck Norris were to see this, he would applaud.
I admire your hard work and commitment. Congratulations!
When that first orbital station fired that MAC, Shit got serious!! Really good effort man, sweet animation!
People, remember that he is restricted to the capabilities of the CryEnginge 2 sandbox system, what it can't handle he can't put into the animation. It's actually pretty awesome what he was able to squeeze out of it.
Its not a bad video considering the software restrictions, really well done to you Sentient!
Great choice of music. Transformers 3 OST was perfect.
I'm watching this for the first time ever now, and wow this is exponentially better than any scene in destiny...
Godamn dude this was cool 7:48 i loved that shot
Easily the best halo vid i have seen, nice job man.
Overall nice video, love the work you've done here. Only thing I noticed that really bothered me was the distancing. That's a good portrait of what that battle would look like, just with a lot more space between the UNSC and covenant ships.
Nicely done, like how you combine animations and Halo campaign
I would love to see more of this. Great job.
That was BADASS!!!!!!! 343TheSentinal your the man.
I wonder where this song is from
2:52 ah transformers 3
"Dear Humanity
We regret being alien bastards
we regret coming to Earth
and we most definitely regret the core just blew up out raggedy ass fleet"
-Sargent Johnson
When you notice, it seems like only the longswords are shooting, the others are just like staying still.
Awesome work mate we don't get to see enough ship to ship battles in the Halo games.
I never comment on things like this but I feel compelled to say - cracking job.
Great Animation, This how I would depicted The First Moments of The Battle of Earth to be like!
This is pretty sick. Nice job and creating this!
Really good work on the ship models.
Nice video bro, I wish there were some scenes like this in the video game
Excellent job on this. I really enjoyed it. looking forwards to more.
Song at 5:06 is from Transformers dark of the moon where Optimus prime kills shockwave
All guns are not created equal. (Bravo on cg work.)
Great work! UNSC.
United Nations Space Command Thank you Admiral Hood and the UNSC brass. Im glad you still have youtube accounts in 2552! Keep it real!
@@343TheSentient Thank you so much! I love the UNSC so much Hopefully this grows into something! Pretty much Command focuses with the banished conflict altough we must not forget UEG Citizens too! Have a Nice Day! COMMAND OUT. UNSC.
awesome vid man. There should be a lot more of these
The battle was epic...
Sadly I was only the observer who used to fly around camouflaged as a covenant plasma shot or a unsc turret bullet
best HALO film eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
cool! actually it's awesome to think this was going on in the background of halo 2, nice job! :D
Where are the marathons?
Some Marathon-class heavy cruiser
s like UNSC Say My Name were in this battle! Didn't make it to the animation though, sorry.
343TheSentient it's good Bro, it's good.
you are correct, for this specific engagement at earth, but shortly after regret left, 700 covenant ship came out of slip-space to attack earth, at reach there was only 300 covenant ships. as a whole, earth was the largest battle of the war
6:54 esos cañones de defensa orbital son muy potentes👍👏👏👏
This is awesome, thx for making this video
LOVE YOUR CGI WORK HERE BTW!!
as.....low graphic as it looks....it was AWESOME!!!!!
not to mention there were still quite a bit of orbital stations left which blew up a lot of the first "Big" fleet, and i'm imagining quite a few more survived due to the fact that the ONI station wasn't founded a month later after the battle of new mombassa (As you see in Halo ODST) and the fact that in halo 4 you see a few Halcyon cruisers and a bunch of paris class frigates in the opening movie. (They might have been in critical reserves or a mothball fleet, who knows).
Dude, nice work man
The Battle of Reach was by far the largest engagement. At least in terms of significance. The first battle for Earth was a mere cake run compared to Reach. But goodjob and interesting idea. keep it up :)
Yes, 750 Covenant Ships, and a huge amount destroyed, considering the UNSC's usually quite low kill rate in space :/
The Covenant CAS-Class Assault Carrier makes my insides tingle.
Transformer music goes great with halo great job
Dude this was sweet. Great job!
amazing work man, absolutely astounding :)
Thank you.... So much... Finally, a person who knows what is coming out their keyboard!
The ending should have cut to H2's cinematic, and the Home Fleet (excluding the ODP's) never used a MAC round. Otherwise, very entertaining.
man i only can tell one word:
AMAZING!
This was really good and great job
my dude that was dope
best ship battle to date. praise for to you for doing it :)
