I cried and have cried every time i hear it. I watched this for the first time 30 years ago with my best friend and secret love in high school.. It was the night before I left for boot camp and we spent it in each others arms watching this movie. Because of that I have always had fond memories of that night and this song. I have to say, its not quite as good as I remembered, but it was sweet and innocent, like I was at that time... and since I haven't seen or talked to her in over 20 years, the lyrics hit home a bit, silly as it may be. He was the kindest uncle any person could ask for and he was always there for me whenever I needed him, but he passed on too soon on 7th June 2012 from a tragic heart attack at the age of 48. No real concerts - all lip-synced. And most of all, they don't write their own music. There is nothing there. It's all just a bunch of nothing.
