The holder and the snappers job is honestly harder than the kickers because u have to have a good snap and a good hold and don’t drop the ball so that the kicker can kick a good kick
In 2023 vs the Bills in week 12 to send the game in OT, is the most impressive kick I have ever seen by a kicker. The guy is MONEY & becoming one of the most clutch kickers in NFL history. Still can't believe Howie picked this guy up from the Bengals practice squad. Thank you Caleb Sturgis!
Everyone knows how great Jake is, it’s nice that he also gives credit to his long-snapper and holder. So nice that Jake shows the importance of team work
Our Super Bowl Kicker. I grew up watching David Akers, I remember some clutch moments with David but with Jake as our kicker now, I half to put him ahead of David, he has ice in his veins with clutch field goal kicks to win us games including the super bowl. What really made him go infront of David was that game against Buffalo last year in the rain. Doing a 59 yard field goal in the wind and rain and NAILS IT.
Right now before the season with the new rule begins is the perfect time to do it I think. Give the punt unit some time in the sun and also help explain to the fans exactly how this rule is gonna play out for the team.
Now you see working as a team is so important, they know their job and when it's executed the right way, this is what you get. These guys are awesome......Go Eagles !!!!
Ngl this just showed me how much goes into kicking I already did lose my mind with all your clutch kicks Jake but o my god all 3 all of yall really help make the clutch happen it’s crazy I love my team honestly
FANTASTIC video. I think these are 3 of the most important and woefully underrated positions on a team - the holder in particular has zero margin for error. I'm 56, ok shape for my age, to this day I still enjoy going to my nearby high school and trying field goals off a tee. Im still OK to 45 yards, but right kicking hamstring whines for days despite stretching. Hell to get old, but more fun than shooting baskets!
I really enjoyed this video, the kicking game has always amazed me in American football, how kickers can hit field goals from accurately from longer and longer distances. I understand the accuracy now- still amazed how far some of these guys can kick a football.
That's my kicker! Jake is the most clutch kicker in the NFL and he also has a very strong leg! This is coming from a lifelong Eagles fan! Fly Eagles Fly🦅 Go Birds🖤💚🦅
Obviously the kick itself comes down to Jake, but it's a lot more involved from Braden and Rick than you'd think, from spinning it at the perfect rotation to the slight (I could barely perceive it lmao) tilt of the ball depending on the field positioning. Super interesting.
After watching this, I understand why even extra-point goals are not guaranteed. Every process must be perfect, while the other team tries to distract you.
What I would hope they would do is let others on the team who want, to practice with these guys. I'm not expecting any other non-primary kicker here to kick a 40-50-60 yard ball But wouldn't it be wild to see someone else on the team kick a consistent 20-30 yard ball? And even try doing 40 yarders on occasion I would enjoy winning a tight game over a division rival with our WR or he'll better yet a OG or DE kicking it through the uprighs lol ...but doing this also would increase the value you bring to the team. The more you can do (backup wise) can only be a good thing. Like cross training at the job.
There is a reason teams keep a long snapper on their roster, and Rick just showed why. It sounds easy to snap the ball, but how many people can do it consistently and robotically each time the exact same way?
Read something the other day that Jake The Make has never missed a 58+ yard field goal (4/4) The consensus GOAT Justin Tucker is 3/13 btw lol, Jake’s the only kicker with 3 consecutive seasons of 44+ extra points, has the longest field goal made by a rookie (61 yard game winner against the NY midgets) I know I don’t have to remind yous lol and a few more that I saw earlier that blew my mind but can no longer find smh either way Jake is without a doubt in the top 3-5 kickers in the NFL. GO BIRDS 🦅 Edit: The other crazy stats I was forgetting was he’s never missed a field goal to tie or to win a game. Unreal. And people still don’t realize how good he really is except us Birds fans
The real question is where do you rank this man Me without knowing a ton of all kickers I am confident putting him in the top six or seven- secretly I want to say top four
Jake is probably the most underrated kicker in the league! And most clutch
Literally the goat 🙌🏼🦅
Only second behind Tucker until he retires 🦅🦅🦅
I mean he was an all pro
Jake Elliot has come in clutch so many times I can't even count.
TOO MANY
Let's try though
Giants 2017 week 3 61 yarder
@@thisisthetarterthis is when I knew we had a legit kicker to do that as a rookie 🦅🦅🦅
My friend, that is an understatement. That man is GOLDEN!
I have his jersey...nobody have it made so i had to pay extra for custom #4 Elliott on official kelly green nfl jersey
the importance of the snap and hold is so underrated
True. So far as I understand, if the snapper fails to locate the ball in the right direction, then it's just not gonna work.
Eagles media is simply the best!
That part tho our mini movies documentaries is legendary frfr our organization top to bottom is just the best at EVERYTHING literally fr💯💯🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅GoBirds
Not an Eagles fan, but I do agree!
The holder and the snappers job is honestly harder than the kickers because u have to have a good snap and a good hold and don’t drop the ball so that the kicker can kick a good kick
If anyone I'd listen to about kicking, its the great Jake Elliot, he's good at everything.
Yup I’m literally taking notes

Jake is one of, if not the best, currently in the NFL! Can't help but be excited about this year!
This^🙌🏼🙌🏼
Last season he was statistically the best kicker in the nfl (xp and fg combined %)
Everyone knows how great Jake is, it’s nice that he also gives credit to his long-snapper and holder. So nice that Jake shows the importance of team work
The quality on these videos is crazy, so well done!
He is DEFINITELY outstanding!!!FLY EAGLES FLY!!💚🦅

David Akers 2.0 and that's saying something
Niners legend David Akers
Hey, Eagles Media Team, can we get a similar video on the punt unit? And the intricacies of the new kick-off rules?
Yes please
Right now before the season with the new rule begins is the perfect time to do it I think. Give the punt unit some time in the sun and also help explain to the fans exactly how this rule is gonna play out for the team.
I 100% want that
I did not realize that the snapper took responsibility for getting the laces ready for the hold by targeting exactly 2.5 rotations.
That was sick thx for makin this video
These details are so crucial every game 💯
Jake elliott is the best🦅🦅
The 🐐
I appreciate rick and bradden so much more now💚💚
Now you see working as a team is so important, they know their job and when it's executed the right way, this is what you get. These guys are awesome......Go Eagles !!!!
That Braden Mann punt to seal the Superbowl is gonna hit so different
Ngl this just showed me how much goes into kicking I already did lose my mind with all your clutch kicks Jake but o my god all 3 all of yall really help make the clutch happen it’s crazy I love my team honestly

These gents have been and will be vital. Pay them more.
Honestly some of the most of a break down of kicking I think I’ve ever gotten besides kicking specific channels 😂

ELLIOT!!! Love him ❤️
Eliotttttttt
Thunderfoot at work!
I would've liked to see kicks that had bad snaps like kicking the laces or the laces to the side.
Fun fact: Jake Elliot has never missed a kick of 58 yards or further for his career (4/4)
My best is a 40 yd so I’m definitely going to try these tips to get farther

I tend to hold my breath when my birds play, praying a play goes well or def can hold, but I get a sense of calm when #4 trots on out.

memphis legend
Hey Jake...gimme that left arm straight coming across on the short kicks. You do it on the long kicks....what do I know right?
There is a reason teams keep a long snapper on their roster, and Rick just showed why. It sounds easy to snap the ball, but how many people can do it consistently and robotically each time the exact same way?
Jake the Make
My buddy (his stepdad) was crying in the stands when he kicked
“The Long One.”
