The Bob Marshall Wilderness and Chinese Wall FLIGHT TOUR

The Bob Marshall Wilderness and Chinese Wall inside the Bob Marshall Wilderness is truly a magical place.
Designated as the Bob Marshall Wilderness or "The Bob" as it is known locally in 1964 by the U.S Congress. The Bob Marshall Wilderness "The Bob" consists of 1,009,352 acres of wilderness. The Bob Marshall Wilderness is managed by both the Spotted Bear Ranger District and the Rocky Mountain Ranger District.
The U.S. Forrest Services says that besides the greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the state of Alaska the Bob Marshall Wilderness has the largest population density of Grizzly Bears in the U.S. It was names after early forester and wilderness pioneer Bob Marshall. Bob Marshall was also co-founder of the Wilderness Society.
The Chinese Wall which is within the Bob Marshall Wilderness is said to average 1,000 feet in elevation from it's base and runs 22 miles long. The Chinese Wall runs along the Continental meaning water flows to different oceans based on which side it lands of the divide. The Chinese Wall can be accessed by hiking into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. However, camping at the base of the wall is prohibited in order to protect the sensitive ecosystem.
It is amazing how a place like the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the Chinese Wall can remain a secret. Until I came to this part of Montana I had never heard of either The Bob Marshall Wilderness "The Bob" or the Chinese Wall. But both of these places offer as much beauty as any place I have ever been or seen.
Having the opportunity to take a Flight Tour of the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the Chinese Wall is a memory I will look back on fondly for the rest of my life.

Alice and I had a great time flying with Danny Jones of Red Dog Flying Service. We flew over the Bob Marshall Wilderness and along the Chinese Wall in North West Montana.
