Thank you for this how-to tutorial on troubleshooting and repair of the window motor, this turned out to be the exact, FREE, fix for a non-operating power window in my 2005 Grand Caravan. great information and right to the point, Thanks!

Excuse me if the question is dumb, but what did you use to clean these metal plates?

Mateusz Sołowianiuk ~ I used some solvent spray and a lint free cloth. There was some dirty deposits and this did the just the job

I did the exact same thing with my 2000 Chrysler Town & Country. Same exact problem you had. I cleaned up all the contacts and the window operated just like yours. After cleaning it would go down fast but slow going up. So I cleaned and greased the screwdrive on the motor. Then I lubricated the window tracks and the drive cables on both sides. That did the trick and it operated fast up and down with less resistance on the motor. That lasted about a week slowly going back to the original problem of not going back up. My question is, how long did your window operate normal after your fix? Is it still working or did it start failing again like mine? I'm trying to figure out if I need to buy a new motor for $40 or the complete motor drive and cable assembly. I think I need to check the resistance on the motor but I wanted to see if you did anything else to fix your window. Thanks in advance for any advice. Great video!

@Trent It's funny you brought this up today, it was literally last Sunday, I had to take it all apart again as it failed about 3 months after I fixed it. Only this time, the cable had a link in it and was causing the problem. It was fast going down but not up. After spending about 2 hours on it last weekend. I resorted to giving up and will be ordering a new cable set. The motor is still ok. At the moment, I have put some wooden blocks in the door to keep the window up. Cars eh, they are a pain in the arse! 😀

@@grannysvids I would order the whole motor/actuator assembly and call it a day. I'm going to see if mine is binding up somewhere but it acts like the motor is either not getting good contact again or its tripping some kind of overload switch. It will try and go up for a second then acts like it's out of power and gives up. Then it wont even try and work until it's been a couple hours or so. I think you might be right about the cable getting kinked or binded up somewhere. Times like this I miss the manual roll up windows... Let me know how it turns out for you. At least you got a couple years out of it!

@@trent1755 - well, above the motor is a coil assembly under a metal disc. I unwound that and greased it up, also took the whole assembly out of the door but the kink would just make everything bad again. I will let you know how I get on.

For those that go to sleep fetching videos to save money all over on this kind of repairs, I'll add that you should look into the brushes been worn. Mine were. This is what creates the burned components. Most likely that's why a few months after just cleaning the components, lubricating, and putting back together, yours stopped working again. Look into them and replace if needed. Those are cheap online. Let us know for your case.
