AADL Welcomes: Sustainable Energy Utility Proposal Discussion with Mayor Chris Taylor

Voters in November will have the opportunity to create a Sustainable Energy Utility (the "SEU") to supplement existing DTE service. The SEU is an opt-in, sustainable energy utility that will enable Ann Arbor residents who choose to participate to enjoy locally generated, reliable, 100% renewable energy - individual or networked rooftop solar panels, heat pumps, geothermal systems, or batteries all supplied by the SEU. The SEU will not require any new taxes. Preliminary modeling shows that the SEU rates are comparable to, if not slightly less than, DTE rates.
