Hi John… very cool ! Yes I was introduced to Herbie Hancock like many by the video for Rockit back in the day. Love that song and video. I have only become aware of his massive catalogue and contributions over the last few years. I do have the Wayne Shorter album Speak No Evil which he plays on which is fantastic. Thank you for the recommendation of this album. I will be checking it out . Thank you John. Chez
It definitely does, Daniel, and I agree that it deserves more love than it gets. Thank you! Well, we are the same age as confirmed on that Contrarians show we did, so us discovering HH with "Rockit" makes sense! Cheers!
I wish there were more hours in the day so l could properly get into jazz fusion. I’m a big fan of certain albums, but sadly, never dove deeper into it. Of course, working in the shoppes l heard quite a bit of it; but only a few things stuck with me and became perennial favorites. Time to get ready for bed, l have to work later toDAyVE, unlucky me. Keep on, keepin’ on, 🎵 🌰! Cheers from The Big Apple. 🍎 Rock Out, Prog On & Pogo! It’s my mantra and my logo. Thanks Davey! I didn't get into jazz-fusion until I was in my early 30s. I was taking piano lessons at the time and my teacher introduced me to WRTI-FM out of Philadelphia. To this day, they play classical during the day and more traditional jazz at night. On Friday nights, they have a show called The Bridge, where they really mix it up and that's where I found fusion. I can imagine that you heard a lot of it back in the day in the shoppes. - The Monchichi Mwandshi that hangs out with Rikishi that is John the Music Nut!
Rocket was huge in the dance clubs in the 80s
Oh I can imagine it was (I was a teenager then)! Thanks!
Thank you/ I normally learn about this genre, from. SOT. John / great job 👍💯
Thank you so much Gary! There will be more fusion and other forms of jazz to come!

You're welcome and thank you Chez! I also own Speak No Evil and yes, that is fantastic. Cheers!
Ha, John You're getting better at this.. this is one album that I don't have on 8 track but I think I have some Herbie 🎹😎👍🤔😁👏👏👏
Thank you Ernesto! I am sure you have Headhunters though. I mean you have to! 😁🎹🥁🎷🎸
This album tends to get lost in the shadow of Headhunters. Thrust needs more love. Great show! I first heard HH with Rockit too!
