- Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks at Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Supreme Court of India, left the judges of Supreme court in splits on January 28. PM said, “I understand that lawyers/judges are facing difficulties in old SC building and hence Centre has granted ₹800 cr for a new SC building. I hope someone doesn’t file a petition against it in SC, just like they did against new Parliament building.”

@@rajkootrapali no they ( my maternal elderly relatives) didn’t approach. The court is High Court of Kerala. It was a property dispute we were in class 3 when it started. Now 3 among them even passed away. Now it has gone dormant.

Modiji, please ask court to speed up their Justice delivery. Its very slow. Tarikh pe tarikh is not correct. Justic delayed is Justice denied.
this is why people are scared of justice. they don't even fight and suffer in own country
To speed up justice delivery, you need more judges and more courts. For that, the Government has to step in and fund the construction of Courts across the country. But that is not sufficient, Judges are made from lawyers. Lawyers graduate from law colleges. Those need to be built too.
Why is the SC based in Delhi only? Why can we not have 7 other branches of the SC located in key cities - Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Guwahati. SC should be accessible to all people, and travel distance should not become a obstacle.
Request to honourable judges, please hear the cries for justice of lakhs people who die in wait of justice. All that we promptly get from om courts is next date of hearing

The Supreme Court has constituted a separate committee for evaluation of the collegium system. I hope they phase it out and make it more democratic.

@@madhuinuganti5590 most of the people who have faced court in their life, know this. i am very well aware, but you cannot expect everything to change in a night. this basic problem is present in India since many years in 70+ years of independence. chief justice himself has proposed digitisation which has solved many problems for citizens , when you will face any court case you will know how much digitisation is helping. it has decreased no. of people visiting court, looting done by advocates & their clerks. people can watch proceedings and be updated about the orders online and so much more. after digitisation re-building infrastructure is next step to achieve what you want. this cannot happen in a night. people and govt and judges are aware of these things, focus on what has developed and wait for more. also youtube can't help you in completing your demands from govt..

There is need for reforms in Judiciary- multi level system to only two level system is one amongst many reforms needed.
The situation of the lower courts and the number of cases pending are both deplorable. Lack of accountability and transparency is a huge drawback.
