This is so awesome!! I saw Sanctuary open up for Iced Earth a few years ago, but Warrel Dane had passed away a few months before the tour started. It was a PHENOMENAL show, but I would have really loved to have seen Warrel live just once , but it never happened. I had Sanctuary's Refuge Denied album many years ago when it first came out as a little kid , but I lost track of them sometime after and the concert I saw a few years ago got me back into them big time. I am also giving his other band Nevermore a chance as I ordered Nevermore's live album Year Of The Voyager a few days ago. I have been a huge massive fan of Iced Earth for at least twenty five years. They are one of my all time favorite bands ever. Jon Schaffer looks so young here. Iced Earth is one of the greatest live bands I have ever seen. They are also one of the most consistent bands I have ever listened to. Their albums and songs are mostly all killer, with very little filler or none at all. Warrel Dane in my opinion was one of the greatest singers ever. His singing was insane, especially on Sanctuary's Refuge Denied album.
A real pity than Jon threw his career away. I loved Iced Earth.

Ah, the tour that got Pat O'Brien fired. Jim Sheppard told me when they returned home that he was getting drunk and trashing the band for not being heavy enough to their fans, so they fired him.

That’s their best album I love their old shit but musically it their best

Although he recently had issues, I think they were best together, Jeff and Pat. The In Memory EP is super strong.

That's what happens when you get older and been smoking/drinking/drug taking for years, and your health is already on a decline in the later years. Probably just burnt himself out too quickly. R.I.P
