Thank you really applied to me, the piece about courage and funny you mentioned Alex Honnald I was just watching climbing videos and cottoned onto who that is. I feel like this info has confirmed me all the more in my choice to become catholic which I suppose I realised I have been and need more fullness in courage to face the challenges and obtain my firm decision.

Thank you for the recommendation to your sister, Rebecca (Becca Dougherty)'s podcast, "Catholic Light" which is taking us through & teaching us about The Catholic Catechism. I found it both via my phone podcasts & on RUclips, & have started it today. I'm very excited about it & looking forward to progressing through it. Thanks again!
Also, Fr. Mike Schmitz is starting his podcast of The Catechism in a Year in January of 2023, so I am looking forward to reinforcing what I am learning form Rebecca with a follow-up from Fr. Mike. God bless!

I struggle so much with fear especially of the unknown and death because I am worried I will never have done enough to warrant heaven. I fear so much, what should I do? Wish I would have commented as not sure you will see this now. Please pray for me, I will pray for you.

I've got good news and bad news. Bad news is, you can never do enough to warrant heaven.
Good news is, it's a gift of grace God freely gives His children, should they remain in a state of grace. So as long as you're going to mass, confession, and praying and fasting, you'll be OK.

@@VACatholic That is bad advice and could possibly even be harmful to a person's soul.
The truth is that you can and SHOULD be confident in your path leading to heaven, when you know that you frequently receive the sacraments, especially the sacrament of reconciliation.
It is an insult to our Father, in heaven, to not have faith and trust in his mercy and willingness to forgive us, as St. Therese of Lisieux stated.
Knowing that you have done what you can to be in a state of grace is sufficient reason for you to rejoice and have confidence in that you are on your way to heaven unless, of course, you commit a mortal sin... But then, again, all that is required of you is that you go to the sacrament of reconciliation and wholeheartedly seek out God, ask for his forgiveness, repent and know that you are in his trusting hands.

"Do Not Fear" nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons.Fear death? when you know the Love of the Father & where you are going..you will sing "Tearful Tearful being away from our Lord the Father." so take up your sword be mighty in battle. they will regret if they kill you bcoz something bigger is on the way as another doomsday....bcoz we will enjoy heaven not only that but we will have more influence on earth from heaven than we were on earth..For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds

Do what you deeply desire, as long as you want it for the absolute purest reasons and is not incongruent with you living a holy life. Obviously you have to know what it is that you want first haha

You can choose a vocation for the salvation of your soul. Love is a choice NOT a feeling.
When we take aborted babies and use them to make medicine to keep old people alive, that is vampirism.
It's a privilege to serve our Blessed Lord on Sunday.

I must admit always being frustrated at the characterization of God in the Old Testament versus the New Testament, because I think it is vastly overplayed and misunderstood. One must remember that in the Old Testament God is dealing with an entire people, including their political system, over hundreds and hundreds of years. That means that issues having to do with power, warfare, economic injustice, etc. all must be addressed. In the New Testament Jesus is interacting only with a people who have no political power and so those issues do not come to the fore. But go back and read some of Jesus parables and you will see that things are not quite as peaceable as we tend to think. Then read the book of Revelation. I also think that the argument about cultural context is a very dangerous one. It has been used to support the negation in our own time of practically all sexual morality.
