    Not all Mongolians are offended:/
    I am pretty glad to see this musician playing the Morin Khuur. I feel ashamed as a Mongolian for some people on here are making such a fuss about this whole situation. Can’t we just enjoy the music for once without commenting with such hatred and prejudice? I think it’s a blessing that this instrument is also popular in other countries, in my opinion it means more people are getting to enjoy this wonderful instrument and the music it creates in our ears. Furthermore, the more exposure it gets means the more chance it has in not getting extinct.
    I also think that there’s no need to say who deserves and who deserves not to play this instrument, with race and blood as an argument. Firstly, there’s no such thing as for an example I’m hundred percent something and not the other, everyone’s a bit mixed. I for one am half Mongolian and half German. But my grandmother is polish so I’m around 25% that as well, and on my Asian side I would not be surprised if I was 1 or 5 % Japanese or Chinese or who knows what. At the end of the day we are all human beings. So leave this amazing musician alone, and let him do his thing for goodness sake. I for one think he did a wonderful job and should be left in peace.
    P.s I’m learning to play this instrument as well!

There are many similar musical instruments in the world, and as you cannot say Morin Khuur is from China, because its brother is from China. They may looks similar in their shapes and operation, but the cultural background is disparate from each other.

    Inner Mongolian Autonomous District is a province-level administrative area in China with population near 20 millions, 8 times as that of the Outer Mongol, i.e. the Mongol as a nation, the GDP per capital being 4 times as that of Outer Mongol. Therefore, most work of preserving and developing Mongolian arts and culture is done by Inner Mongol.

    • @wtftode
      @wtftode 7 лет назад +9

      If you take a look at the current traditions of morin khuur in the Mongolian Republic, you'll notice that they've not only done a better job of perserving their music and instruments, but modernizing them as well, so they're less likely to die off, and more likely to spread. Don't get me wrong, I have my respect for the inner Mongolian style, but they certainly have NOT done a better job of preservation, and certainly not modernization.

      @@youngshway2767 It's an old comment and I don't agree with my wording, but the sentiment I was trying to express was that the modernization to the instrument (which was done by Soviet luthiers iirc) made it arguably more functional in modern music due to standardization. Changed? Absolutely. Better longevity? Hopefully. I don't hold it in any higher regard than the Inner Mongolian instruments, but I think it has an adoption advantage.

    It's sad that the Mongol culture in China is being slowly wiped out. Mongols are moving out of or being forced out of their gers and moving into cities or government issued camps. I am a throat singer and morin khuur player, I know how uncommon this culture is these days, especially in western parts of the world. I'm glad there's still people who are playing morin khuur, even if they are Chinese. If the Mongols weren't as strong as they are, the culture would be gone.

    I find some outer Mongolians are very very funny. On Haya band's clips (youtube here) if someone say Daiqing Tana is Chinese they would be very angry and ready to stab you if dare to say that again; now on this video clip if somebody say the player Zhang quansheng (Daiqing Tana's husband) is Mongolian-(he is, indeed), the outer Mongolians would say Quansheng is not Mongolian because the way he moves (?) and would be angry because the Han Chinese robbed their culture.
    So, the inner Mongolians need to be approved to be Mongolians from outer Mongolians, otherwise outer Mongolians would stab the Han Chinese to ease their anger.

    I'd like to say that some of the shape of modern Morin khuur, was promoted by Mr. Qi baoligao. He is a Mongolian in China, and he cooperated with a Han in China when improving Morin khuur. If you think it is necessary for the Mongolian to play pure, you should not use the modern modified version of the Morin khuur, because each one is related to a Han, his name is - Zhang Chunhua

    I think player is chinese or inner mongolian man. If he was original Mongolian, this performance has to be best.

      original Mongolian?
      Russian Mongolia you mean?
      sorry, you guys can't play like this.
      This is professional.

      @AyurzanaBadarch 9 лет назад +2

      You have to understand main principle what i said. Morin khuur, long song and khuumii based one Mongolian human soul and its expression. No one can play and sing it perfectly who is not origin mongolian. What a russian mongolian? you mean khalimag or buriat? those are not russian mongolian. Those tribes are Mongolian.

      Ayurzana badarch This is not long song,OMG lol
      This is just a professional instrument player, tell me your Russian Mongolia soul then. Whats that???
      i will give you a chance to show us your performance with so called "Mongolian soul" better than this.
      Im just waiting for your vid show.
      LOL

      What a hell russian mongolian. Ignore it russian. There is no russian mongolian in the world. Search on youtube. you will find some ''soul''. You don't know nomadic life. like this you don't know everything about this instrument. So where are you from bro?

    • @jacklengfavor
      @jacklengfavor 9 лет назад +1

      Ayurzana badarch I don't want to see any thing from Mongolia, I don't care Mongolia, I just enjoy this performance.
      im Manchu Chinese, im enjoy chinese program. Why there are so many Mongolia haters here?

    @matouqin Yeah of course it is human right. I just wanted to say even though foreign people play it they will not understand meaning of the music. because our music is just about our life, our nomadic way of living.

    There are mongolians still remaining in China, and the morin khuur is being tought in daily basis, just like the language both oral and written (the Mongolian script) If you got any doubts about this drop me a private message in my page here we can discuss this further.

    You cannot steal culture dude.It spreads and those who are within the range of it's illumination carries the glow with them.China is rich with culture .You may appreciate or accept what you can have.I think you people are biased with some unhealthy notion.

    音响师欠揍,把马头琴的话筒音量调大啊,还是演出后面话筒坏了?委屈马头琴了!

    I'm quite sure that he's a mongolian who lives in inner mongolia. Having a Chinese name dosen't mean that he's a Chinese.

    Morin Huur is the one of Mongolian great cultures. This chinesse man is well-trained playing this amazing instrument. But Any toddler of mongolains can play Morin Huur better than them. Here is my advice. Play this intrument with feeling from your heart not just acting. While you playing, you use a lot of funny gastures.
