There are so many more differences in the box set manga than I would have guessed! Also let’s hope for a hardcover release when we get the colored version I’d spend all of my money for that!!

Love this new box set, thank you for unboxing! The art cards are beautiful and a much better bonus than the little sticker sheets that came with the 2012 and 2013 box sets (altho they were pretty cute too). Unfortunately, Amazon shipped my box set with even less paper to protect it in the shipping box and I am awaiting a replacement 🥲

I’ve avoided the new releases of the manga since I already have the original reprint from the 2010’s, but I’m ngl if the French publisher that owns the Sailor Moon license would bring out a set like this I’d go for it 😅.
I'm super happy and excited for the 2024 Sailor Moon Complete Vol. 1-6 Manga Collection this year- the box is absolutely amazing and pretty with the holographic design and glitter!!! Love it a lot, I really do want to get this one as it includes the cute Sailor Moon manga artworks created by Naoko Takeuchi and you know, I absolutely love Naoko's Sailor Moon Manga artworks as they're so beautiful and magical!!! I'm still trying to finish collecting the 2018 Eternal Edition so I can get the 2022 collection, I already completed the 2011 version and got one of the OG manga books involving Princess Kaguya's Lover & Rei's Casablanca Diary episode, so I got to finish them so I can get this one!!! Hopefully they'll still be there by the time I get it and I totally hope we get the color Manga soon, I love that version so much!!!

My first set of the Sailor Moon manga was the first version of the box collections and they looked pretty good! I was not thinking about getting the second version of the collection until I saw this and I really like the colored post cards lol so I just got mine from crunchy roll for the price. I'm praying to the Moon Goddesses for it to arrive safe and sound 😅 I really how box set 2 have the villains in post cards!!
New subscriber and my SM manga collection is that box set you mentioned that you don't have. I pre ordered them back in the day and they came with individual stickers of the chibi art of each guardian from the back of the volumes. At the time it was the only box set that was available so I jumped on the chance. Congrats on the new set, I wonder if it's missing content since they're thinner.

Well was a late pre-order on my end and surprised got this box set early. Love the new book smell. Comic book reader as well so the new comic day feeling. I checked 6, still need my Reader copy of and why want to check as that's a 4th of the volume for the backup stories. The art cards were my other selling points. Perfect if have say, character specific shelves and right size frames. That's an idea for anyone. Would I rebuy a full color set 🤔. 😄👍 Heck yeah. Hoping before get senior discount in tins of stuff. 😅 Await set 2 announcement. I already have Sailor V NT edition preordered. Found volume 1 eternal at a local comic shop along with eternal 7 & 9.

I think I might as well stick with the 2011 reprint as my Xmas wish list. Surprisingly enough I think (Correct me if I’m wrong) it still sells to this day.
@kolkagaming1234 yeah some retailers will still sell certain volumes of the 2011 but its probably like vol 1. Ever since the NT editions came out, they have stopped printing the 2011 ones. The NT has a better translation, which is why.
got this box set and hoping for the box set 2 to come out soon. going by the number of books, the box set 2 will probably contain the rest of the 4 books and 2 sailor V books. i think this will be to complete edition but I have heard about the parallel sailormoon story. don't know if they are included. anyway, i am buying all the latest version of the classic sailormoon anime bluray set and the 4 season of sailormoon crystal anime. hopefully the eternal and cosmos arc will be released on physical media soon.
I love the “notes from Naoko” it’s why I’ve held on to my Tokyo pop versions I was really disappointed when they weren’t in the reprints those notes always made me feel special!
Love the simple design but I'll probabaly pass because I already have the two boxsets from 2013/14, and I think they came with stickers. I'll have to dig them up lol.

Nope, I have all the *English* Kodansha releases, except the 2 box sets as explained in the video. The ones you are talking about are the Japanese set :)
@@ulxTIMxate Not by Kodansha, no. We had the original manga published here in the late 90s by a company called Tokyo Pop and those were not translated accurately. They used western names for the characters. Kodansha began publishing the Sailor Moon manga, accurately, in the USA in 2011, and those are the ones I own.
Does anyone know why these books are backwards? I just ordered my 1st set of Sailor Moon Manga & got the eternal edition 1st. My parents will most likely order me the others I didn't get & the boxed set for Xmas. I live in the US & the spines of a book are on the left side of the book & the right side is where you would open the book to read. I'm so confused why this is. I had to do a double take when it came in the mail thinking I got a defective book until I realized in Brooke's vid it looks the same. Like the front cover is the back cover & back is the front if that makes any sense.
Are you meaning how they’re read opposite of how we read? If that’s the case, then that’s because that’s how Japanese books are read. Manga today reflects how Japanese books are read :)

I have all the single books already so I won’t be buying this box set, but might snag it as a Christmas/birthday gift for my niece. I always forget that box sets are a thing and buy the single books 😅 Why would they drop a 6 book box set when there’s 10 books? Weird they wouldn’t do 5 books for each set 🤷♂️
@ I just found out that next July there will be 2 more books released. Codename: Sailor V Naoko Takeuchi Collection Part 1 and Part 2. So people are speculating the 2nd box set will include these two books making both box sets 6 books! Exciting news 😃
I will be grabbing it shortly, thanks for the video! I assume box 2 will include Sailor V and as such I will move them to box one, assuming the books 1-4 still fit 😂 I doubt we'll see full colour in print, colour ink is way more expensive than black ink and would be cost prohibitive.

Overall, I think it makes sense to invest in a Collection Box Set if you don't already own the manga series. But for me personally, who already has the entire series, I think it is both a waste of money, storage space and climate impact to invest in a Collection Box Set. only to own a ebox and some cards. So no, I will not buy this set. However, was the collection Box a set with coolered manga I might considered buying the collection.
I don't recommend this box set at all. The paper quality is SO bad. It's extremely thin! The artwork bleeds through the page to the opposite side and it's very distracting. The paper is more yellow compared to my other manga purchased 2 years ago. My volumes had defects as well. They had dents, were poorly cut, and had glue residue on the spines. The box set and art cards themselves are beautiful, but the manga volumes printed for this release are terrible. As shown in the video, the back of the volumes say "Printed in China" instead of USA like the individual releases. You can't even replace them with the better quality standalone versions because they won't fit!
Oh my gosh this is horrible! I noticed mine were whiter than my older copies, I think they aged. I haven’t noticed any bleeding at all. Do you think you got a defective set? Because this seems awful! Hope you can exchange.
I have the 2013 box set! I got the first one on eBay and then randomly found the second one at a secondhand book store here in the UK. I love the beautiful art work on the back.

Good luck finding them for a cheap price! Its getting harder and harder to get it reasonably because of the discontinuation.
