Great video thank you. I just bought the same boat a couple days ago. I watched all your videos on this boat and I have a better understanding of how it works now
When I pressure wash the engine bay I have the engines out . You can wrap the engine in a garbage bag as it is really only the air intake that you have to be careful of.
theres still spare parts to buy to thoose engines?.. Bombardier use that engine in other machines?..whats the name of the engine?..im thinking of buying one of thoose boats but not sure theres spare parts here in Sweden for them..
I'm new on this. One curation that engines don't used oil on any part inside the oil on the gasoline? I know is 2 cycle engines! But I'm scared don't put in oil. Sorry for the probably stupid cuestion
There is an oil tank that will have to be filled and there is an oil pump that pumps the oil into the engine so you don't have to mix it with the fuel. Assuming that the oil pump was not removed. Extra oil in the fuel wont hurt the engine. It will just smoke more.
I got pistons from namura I should have gotten 720 but got 800 gave them to a shop he bored them to fit. i noticed windows on these pistons? and that where the needle bearings and rod that it is wider? I'm think I am screwed?
Honestly, I have never even thought of this scenario. If it were me I would have the cylinders re sleeved and get the proper matching pistons. I am not sure the difference (other than size) between a 720 and a 787 piston.
Both pistons for a 717 and the 787 are 82mm standard bore. Then the sizes go up at .25 in increments up to 1 mm over. (sometimes people call the 717 a 720 and a 787 they call it an 800)
Thanks for your videos, I'm actually rebuilding a 1999 gti 720 😁 and your video help me a lot!
Thanks from France 🇫🇷
That's Awesome. I just picked up another jet boat and in the process of rebuilding that one. 951 carb engine.
Great video thank you. I just bought the same boat a couple days ago. I watched all your videos on this boat and I have a better understanding of how it works now
Thank you. I loved that boat. It was screaming fast with the dual engines. I am on the lookout for another!
I started my rebuild today! BOOM! start fluid turned on fuel purred like a lion! LOL!
Great 2 videos! Can you show how you wrap the engines to clean the bay?

Very interested in buying this boat!
Boat was screaming fast. I sold it and go the 951 single engine and it was not as quick and did not have the same acceleration.
great video thanks
You are welcome!
DAM dude you have a great set up there!
Thanks so much. I am enjoying working on stuff in that environment.
how long for a good break in? and what are the most in speed until then? Thanks for any info!
what is that square cut out in your rear trunk???

@@SeadooRefurb the new pistons fit great after the bore but that window I don't have any idea and the company is not replying back to me of course
@@SeadooRefurb how hard is it to re-sleeve them?
I am doing a little research and will advise . You may not be toast.
What diameter are they bored out to ?
What state are you located in? Great video
How do you clean your cases before assembly?
I use a small brass brush so not to scratch the cases and acetone.
I also clean all the bolts with a wire wheel on a grinder.
130 degree. not 147. you have 587 white. its special little slot there on the side for it, so you dont need to messure
Nope . That is a 720 engine. They look very similar. I do appreciate you input . I have never worked on a 587.
@@SeadooRefurb Now i got it!! Never work with 720))) Have 587. 787 ana 951. thanks for respond
Where did u buy your parts?
eBay is the best.
82.40 I guess that makes it an 800? or 787?

@@SeadooRefurb Yeah. I'm putting it together. Want to see if this boat Is fun?
What was your total cost in rebuilding the engine
717 engines are much cheaper to work on . It was about 600.00 . Pistons / gaskets (got lucky that the crank was re usable)
@@SeadooRefurb I just picked up a 1995 speedster for $2000 Canadian and I did a pressure test and all around and the engines read 120+
@@tjsounds2010 120 is good to go !
