The more expensive DJI Goggles 3 have dual lenses, Wifi, Bluetooth and Picture in picture so you can see through the goggles with a tap on the side of the headset. They are also (currently) compatible with more drones than the N3 goggles. DJI made these less expensive by going to a single display and eliminating the IPD and lens adjustments their other goggles provide. Honestly, I think the new N3 goggles have a better image and I really like the larger optics space to be able to keep my glasses on when flying.
The N3 are the _less_ expensive ones. The Goggles 3 are the more expensive ones, and yes, they do everything the N3 do and a lot more (dual screens with forward-facing cameras for AR vision and PIP, bigger battery, lower weight, 100Hz refresh rate instead of 60, lower latency, Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth connection, compatible with more drones), but many people don't need those things.
Question I wear glasses, To focus on the image I hold my book or my mobile phone about 15 inches away from my eyes , so question would these goggles work with my current glasses I wear . Because if I hold the item any closer it’s totally blurred
Paul, thanks for the post and you'll be fine. I wear reading glasses as well and the goggles give me enough room to fit them inside and the image is clear when flying. I can't do this with any of the other DJI goggles and it;s a feature I really like with the N3's. It eliminates the need for the IPD adjustment and lens correction. I just pop them on and start flying. I hope that helps.
The challenge right now is that these are in limited quantities in the United States and some of the vendors that have them are charging a premium for them. I'd give it a week or two for more stock to arrive and the price will settle into the "standard", lower price. I'll adjust the links when DJI has these listed.
One thing the googles did that they don’t tell you is you have to unbound your other controller or your limited to 5 flights. It’s annoying and I don’t understand why dji wouldn’t want all your products bound. I get having to pair each time but the bound/unbound seems pretty stupid way to handle it.
I recommend you check out the Congressional Hearing just announced to be held December 10th regarding drones. Subcommittee Chairmen Pfluger, Gimenez Announce Hearing on Threats to Homeland Security Posed by Unmanned Aerial Systems.
I feel the same way and agree on the image quality. I use a pair of custom lenses on my G3's and still have some fuzziness on the edges. With the new N3 goggles I can wear my glasses and have reduced the display size to 90% and they are almost pin sharp. Just love flying with them.
I agree and it seems like DJI is learning with every new product they release. I honestly can't believe how good these goggles are for the price. They are easily my go-to goggles when I'm heading out to fly FPV. Thanks for the post and be sure to sub the channel so you don't miss anything.
Thanks for the post but I never said there was no latency, only that it was minimal and that much delay is negligible. It's true that it does increase somewhat with distance but if you observe VLOS it won't increase at all and you'll have plenty of time to react. Also, DJI is including their "Smooth Sync" tech in the N3 goggles that is constantly aligning the frames of video being sent to eliminate the jitter that a lot of other goggles suffer from. All things being equal, these are amazing for the price.
You literally said in the video that _"you don't want to have _*_any_*_ latency [...] if there's _*_a couple of milliseconds_*_ of latency, you could have already smacked into the tree before you realise it inside the goggles"._ DJI quotes 31 ms latency with the N3+Avata 2 and 58 ms with the N3+Neo under optimal conditions. Either of those numbers is significantly bigger than "a couple of milliseconds". Now, I don't think 31 (or even 58) ms is terrible, but you _did_ imply that it didn't even have "a couple of milliseconds" of latency, which isn't true. Also, "SyncSmooth technology" seems to be just a marketing term (probably for vsync, which is just a basic way to avoid screen tearing), DJI never explained what it actually is, they never claimed it has any impact on latency (in fact, any temporal smoothing makes latency _worse,_ in exchange for fluidity), and it's not even something that you can turn off and on to see the difference.
@@RFC-3514 LOL, while I appreciate your passion, you're arguing nonsense. Lets assume that the latency is 58 ms for the Neo, The average human reaction to any visual stimulus is around 250 ms, which is five times slower. When I said it had a couple of ms of latency I was commenting on how synchronous the video feed was from the drone, which is essentially negligible. Even if you were a hummingbird and could react in 58ms, the drone would have only traveled less than a foot in the same time period, and if you're flying that close to an approaching object you've got bigger things to worry about. Lets just agree that the latency is a non issue for any flier and close enough to be synchronous for all intents and purposes.
@@Dronevalley - I'm not _arguing_ anything. The OP said you were misleading viewers by suggesting it had no latency, and he's correct. If you didn't *_mean_* to say that, just say so and move on (maybe add a note to the video description correcting it). Don't deny that you said it and accuse the OP of making it up.
@@RFC-3514 I give up, we're debating nothing here. It was clear that when I said you didn't want any latency, I meant that would have been ideal. As I've already pointed out in the last reply a latency of 53ms is a non issue because the average humans ability to react to anything visual is five times that long so even if the latency was 200ms, it's still negligible. Let's just call it a day and get out and fly.
Fimi makes some great gear but if you're looking to upgrade, the Avata 2 or even the DJI Neo with the new N3 goggles is on a whole other level. The provide the best FPV video I've seen in a consumer set and really ramp up the excitement of flying. Have fun and thanks for the post!
don't you get ghost image especially when navigating in menu? Because of mirror trick, we see double text. Many of us see this issue :( Any N3 exist without it?? Should i send it back for warranty??
Thanks for the post but I'm not seeing any "ghosting" on the menu items. I am wearing my glasses when flying so that might be helping a little. You might want to try reducing the size of the display to 90% to pull it in a little. That minimizes the Pin-cushioning and may give you a clearer picture.
@@Dronevalley no better if i scale the display. it is because of mirrors (bad alignment?) On live video i also dont see it, only on menu items, text! Or when booting the goggles. Do you only see one DJI logo for sure? please check, thanks!
This was the best input I've seen on the N3 so far. Thanks!
Excellent presentation, everything I wanted to know.
Woohoo! First like! And what a great prize!
so do the more expensive DJI N3, also do the same thing these do?? what's missing,

Paul, thanks again for the comment and I really appreciate your support of the channel
I'd love to buy a pair, but so far I haven't been able to find anyone that's got them in stock. Ideas?
Well, shame on me. I found the Amazon link and they have them available, but for $339.00. ISTR they were less than that.

My question is with the whole US customs crap where are you finding the N3 to buy?

I have both and prefer them over the G3s. Bizarre that the image seems better on these budget goggles.

Saw this video. I think it's time to throw away my little toy FIMI drone. It doesn't match Google Glass and feels like a product from the last era.
