Of course it's less painful if you have like 3 thin armpit hairs 😂. But if you are a hairy woman with thick strong hair it absolutely hurts when they are ripped out of your body, even with hard wax and aftercare. 😅
Yea like. Try to pull them one by one.. If it doesn't hurt u are hella lucky. But i think for most women not the skin hurts but the hair comibg out is.
I’ve tried waxing my bf and his hair root is just so much thicker and stronger than mine. It even sounds like paper ripping when you pull the strips off. Waxing is a lot more painful for him due to just the structure of his hair being stronger and more stubborn.

If you wax regularly it hurts much less because your hairs are, for lack of a better word, "younger" and aren't as anchored in as older ones, so the first time you wax (or if it's been a while) it's gonna hurt the most

Hi, licensed esthetician here.. Yes it does stick to the hair not the skin, but it does still hurt. You want alot of hair growth before you wax, my go to is 3 weeks because the wax needs something to hold onto. When you apply with hard wax, make sure you apply pressure and against the hair. I like to apply to half the armpit, then the other half. Always apply a lip so its easier to pull and when ur done applying pressure will help with the sting. DO NOT use hard wax on the brows! Its harder to apply and trust me, use soft wax for the brows!
Haven’t tried waxing yet but I got my entire Brazilian area sugared twice now, didn’t flinch once. I was sweating like crazy but the pain was easy to tolerate even with my thick black hair, my beautician said she’s scared of me now and even gave me an extra treatment for free haha 😂 we had a good laugh
I couldn't wax my armpits, purely because my hair grows in two different directions, though I believe quite a few people have the same issue. I personally epilate mine, it's less painful IMO
It actually doesn't hurt as bad when you don't constantly exfoliate, and you wax consistently, because the hair grows in very thin and shorter, thus doesn't hurt as often
Prepping the skin also helps a significant amount. I ususally Exfoliate before hand, gently oiling the skin and then i use a baby powder on the area. Helps a lot
That makes no sense. The silk-epil removes hair without sticking to the skin and it still hurts like hell. I can tolerate it better after years using it but it's not painless.
I honestly find it painless too. When I was getting my armpits waxed for the first time, I thought the wax would be boiling hot and I'd die of the pain after she pulled the wax off. But the wax wasn't that hot at all and it also didn't hurt when she pulled it off. It was also really quick.
She said “To me, at least” and then went on to explain that everyone has a different pain tolerance. Waxing does not hurt for me, at all, even brazilian’s. Just because the skin is irritated doesn't mean it hurts. My eyebrow area is red after I've plucked my eyebrows but I don't feel anything because I've done it for so long
Pain tolerance isn't the only factor here. My mom had this hard waxing done by a pro and her skin was ripped off her body. It doesn't hurt me at all; I found it uncomfortable but not painful, but it's different for people because it does different things to different people

The true answer is: it depends. Waxing gets less painful over time because your hair thins as a result. So even if you're super hairy, the pain will get less and less each time. Or if you're just not very hairy, it may never hurt at all.
At times it hurt depending on what stage your hair is: In anagen stage where the hair is still attached to the dermal papilla, it hurt and spotting might occur

If y’all are like afraid to wax you can always try laser hair removal. Its not super expensive but it’s some money. But it’s quick and not as painful as waxing
it does hurt cause the hair is getting ripped out of its roots so idk whatchu mean that it doesn't hurt. Having a pain tolerance is diff from feeling pain.
I use sugar wax because it removes hair completely once u grow up an u won't have hair and it lasts for 3 keeps once I do it and also it doesn't tear skin
perhaps for those who have light and few hairs, for me that I have dark and thick hairs sometimes I bleed, and thank goodness I have an good tolerance against pain😅
It gets easier over time but there absolutely is pain. I put my own dislocated bones back into place by myself without meds but I can still admit that there's pain before you're used to it unless you get lucky
so lemme make this clear.. waxing doesn’t much hurt but it’s not that it does NOT hurt. It does, and that’s normal. But for people who are sticking to new waxing and say it hella hurts, yes. It does so much hurt because you already shaved so u are pulling ur inner hair too. But it actually hurts crazy when you do it on the most sensitive part of our body’s, you know down there.. 😺
hard wax hurts less but it still hurt. now that i’ve gotten laser hair removal twice and wax often there are like two hairs left and it doesn’t really hurt
I wax my entire body and no area is painless. Some places are way more tolerable, but it’s always a little painful when you rip it off even if you have a high pain tolerance like me. By all means push through the pain girlies, it goes away in 2 seconds, and its beyond worth it✨💅🏻
I shave my armpits. I have waxed them twice in my life and those two times, literal blood came out of them. I guess I'd have to constantly wax them to increase the pain tolerance, but ma'am, it still hurts.
I prefer sugaring wax. Just slap some talc or starch (not too much) it helps ease the pain (I shave usually between waxing and I have really thick hair)
She's not wrong. I never waxed my legs or anything until I went to school to be an esthetician. The first time I was someone's practice subject for waxing legs, I was super nervous. When it didn't hurt at all, I was like "what?? I've been avoiding this for nothing?!" 😂

I can definitely tolerate the pain and I don't find it to be very painful either but I just can't bring myself to rip the wax off my skin lol
If y’all are like afraid to wax you can always try laser hair removal. Its not super expensive but it’s some money. But it’s quick and not as painful as waxing
I have that kit and it does not put out any hair and it IN FACT DOES hurt.
it does hurt cause the hair is getting ripped out of its roots so idk whatchu mean that it doesn't hurt. Having a pain tolerance is diff from feeling pain.
"completely" is a stretch even with few fine hairs
it's only painless for 2 or 3 times for me. But if you do it regularly and don't shave, it's really painless and the hair grows less
I put my own dislocated bones back into place by myself without meds but I can still admit that there's pain before you're used to it unless you get lucky
when it's done well and quickly I didn't felt any pain!
I'm 12, and I get my eyebrows waxed every month or so, and it really doesn't hurt.
i'm older and it hurts like a bitch, shit kills me every time
so lemme make this clear.. waxing doesn’t much hurt but it’s not that it does NOT hurt. It does, and that’s normal. But for people who are sticking to new waxing and say it hella hurts, yes. It does so much hurt because you already shaved so u are pulling ur inner hair too. But it actually hurts crazy when you do it on the most sensitive part of our body’s, you know down there.. 😺
I’ve tried both hard wax and the other stuff. I actually agree! The hard wax definitely does not hurt!
hard wax hurts less but it still hurt. now that i’ve gotten laser hair removal twice and wax often there are like two hairs left and it doesn’t really hurt
Me too fr- it literally doesn't hurt at all and I wax my hands and legs as well
thats not an opinion, its your experience
“Waxing doesn’t hurt!”
* *also has been doing this for a good 20 years straight* *
Okay everybody she said that it's her opinion as it doesn't hurt she didn't say that it didn't hurt for you guys
