- On Emma Webb's GB News show, historian Rafe Heydel-Mankoo & former Labour MP Stephen Pound discuss recent examples of museums rewriting history.
Stopped going to Museums when they flew large BLM Banners. Libraries have turned into Rainbow Festivals. This is not their purpose !! Both should remain NEUTRAL 🤬
It's the fruit of liberal education from sexualised ideologues that has decimated our schools, these young people now are in these jobs believing and pushing these destructive narratives and lifestyles.
Same here in Belgium. I don't recognise my country 😢
I stopped going to Liverpool Museum when they built the slavery wing. What? Are they trying to make me feel guilty for something that happened 100’s of years before I was even thought of? Most of the people running our museum have degrees in religion, I mean really?
@@Nansen1981 My Mother complained about such displays in Library of our former Town in NJ in the late 60's. She lived thru Hitler Era in Germany & Poland. Called Slave Propaganda Out. Lost her at 96 earlier this year. Very Intelligent Woman.
I am a librarian in a university. I am ashamed of the current attitudes and behaviour of members of my profession. We are supposed to be neutral.
Rafe is a national treasure
No! I disagree. At this point Rafe is a treasure of the entire western civilization.
@@MrQbee87 your right
I can't quite believe my ears - how on earth can this be appropriate for tourists of different cultures, beliefs and religions to deal with. Why are people's sexual preferences dominating everything, (so last centuary) including places one would normally take children to be educated.
I blame John Money myself. Look him up sometime. A vast international cabal of Marxists infesting universities is a major factor of course but John Money gave them some great ideas to run with.
Because the woke 'PRIDE' Socialist cult is ALL about physical sex and deviancy, that's why. 😉
"If you live up on a hill doesn't mean you hold the moral high ground."
It always gets me how they reduce everyone to their sexuality. History, culture, geography, its okay for these guys to lie in service of The Narrative. After all why let facts get in the way of a good story, right?
Simple, do not visit these places, keep your money in your pocket.
Oh dear they found a mirror on the Mary rose at a time when men where peacocks.
CHS wrote about how 'normal' boys are being left out of lower grade education in her book "The War on Boys", and I saw the things she wrote about when my son was in school. The common defense was, "It is girl's turn [to run the world]".
It's a girl's turn ? Look how that turned out with AOC & the Squad, The View, Pelosi, Hillary, Stacy Abrams, Ginsburg, Soros backed Prosecutors in Georgia etc...
@@joelonzello4189 And now they are arguing that women really are different than those born as men -- when it comes to swimming. It might be time to widen that discussion.
@@hhf39p This issue was settled decades ago during the Olympics. Russian Men masquerading as female shot putters ( complete with Hormones ) were disqualified. All these "empowered" young women apparently weren't aware of that. Could have stopped this nonsense when it started instead of playing the Victim Card !
The girls are running the world into the ground...
Then God help us, but I'll be happy to hand my work boots over to her, whilst I loll about watching soaps all day. 🤣
Sailors had long hair fastened back behind the head. It was a way they were seen. A mirror can be used by men to shave moustache
actually sailors had pigtales!
Yes and attendance to moustaches and hair do is soo beefy butch hot it excited other sailors to develop into other fashion assessories and clothes whilst going into battle. This is the same technique that is continued today in a lot of the Manchester gay scenes on Saturday nights after a lot of pints are had.
They shouldn't mention sexuality at all. Just state marriages and children or neither. If someplace starts discussing possible sexual identity on a long dead person, I ignore it.
Lock the barmpots up, and throw the keys away.
Diversity desperation.
I am german, Brittas boyfriend. We have the same nonsens here in Germany too, more and more. I am no accademic, factory worker, middle education, conservative - rural background. But since 1971 when i visited a Castle during a Kindergarten trip, i am intressted in history. I started with reading books in local public library, when i did a daytrip with my parents, i asked them: Oh , can we visit this Castle? Decades ago, after reading books and magazines, visiting castles, museums, and historic sites ( celtic, roman, medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, i live in those part of former HRE, which was the most devided) i think, i have basic historical knowledge. But i become more and more angry about rising Attitude of Museums and Media/ Journalism to falsify our history. With , our history' i mean the histoy both of Germany AND our european neighbors, to which you Britisch belong.
Absolutely sick of woke culture, destroying everything we value in our heritage and culture of England..No wonder all our museums are turning into visitors center's, no longer British museums..All i see now on the museum front in the UK is complete stagnation.
Comming from a retired museum professional conservator...
Our Smithsonian Institution has also come under criticism in recent years for some exhibits which seek to pander to identity politics.
This is a sin, this has gone to far
What is a sin, poppet?
And exactly what has gone too far?
💋
@@robertcottam8824 this rebranding of things, these contradictions of reality to apease confused people, that want to live fantasies.
What is the sin the erasing and changing of history to apease a screaming confused mob, the subversion of the truth, of the facts to apease the mob, the deliberately corruption of history to apease a poisonous ideology.
@@robertcottam8824 don't ever address me whit that familiarity again.
@@robertcottam8824This insistence of deviancy and increased unfettered physical sex being pushed by the PRIDE cult, whilst pretending that it's all about 'feelings'. 😉 I mean strutting about in dog bondage gear, on a chain, in front of tiny children, screaming "we're coming for your children" demonstrates that sick deviancy quite clearly. I'm surprised that you aren't aware! (But, you ARE, and baiting, like PRIDE deviants do).
What an utterly ludicrous load of suggestions; sinister indeed Rafe. The expression "jolly jack tars" referered to sailors tarring their hair to ensure it didn't get tangled in the rigging!
Had to have a little chuckle when some berk suggested women were better hunters than men, despite being smaller, weaker, slower, risk-averse, like to talk to each other face to face, like animals, and of course they were pregnant. Well, they're not going to catch bugger all if they don't leave the cave, don't look out for prey, and aren't willing to take risks, are they? They can't lift a half-full box of Amazon goodies let alone a large stag. MINT!! 🤣🤣🤣
This is how its always gone. Think of history like a very long game of telephone
History has always been written by the victors (of any conflict).
@@TheSGBrown exactly! The majority of history is definitely falsified
rewriting history so slavery never happened.
That's why i buy my own books. Welcome to the world of insane Foucaultian logic.
museums should be bastions of truthfull accurate history. not trendy speculative fiction added on real historical items
I have enjoyed going to the library since I was about five years old. My mother took my brothers and sisters to the local library each week and that has carried on for me these past 60 years. My local library here actually delivers books you pick on their web page. You can also suggest a title for them to order and send to you once it arrives. They have approved about 90 percent of the books I have requested. I think they are fair too and have a wide range of books for just about everyone. It's sad to see libraries go political but such are the times.
4:55 They don't know about Windrush, they know the government approved lies about Windrush.
Oh yes Windrush ,the people that were offered cheap tickets to go look for work in the UK.
@@garypautard1069Not by the British government. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Show a leg, 3 square meals a day, learn the ropes, let the cat out of the bag, all sayings arising from the Royal Navy.
Rafe is the best and my favourite person He is super gorgeous handsome. I don't care about LGBQT Rafe is superior to all that nonsense and wins all genders affections. Regardless of King Henry identifying as LGBQT because of the way her dressed, I'm convinced he was Transvestite inclined. I'm just saying.
Uuuuu they found a mirror and came to the 'rainbow' conclusion. I can only lift an eyebrown at that, because yes men AND females used it back in the day to pamper themselfs up (as another commenter said peacock attitude) i can only guess that, that mirror was there to help sailors freshen up (like shaving, present themself neatly, maybe style their haircut like clip it or style it so its not in the way of work) like used it like a normal mirror were used for. Plus to my understanding back in the day like henrys time and forward the 'queens' / rainbow talk happent behind closed doors and were not spoken about openly like we can today, kind of like a hush hush topic. So yeah i have a ? mark for that kind of speculation.
Men shaved then. I'm sure that on a ship, a beard can be useful for the weather, but I'm sure that there would be men who found them disgusting germ breeders, just as I do.
We are NO different in intelligence levels.
3:29 oh, i just looked and its you. Awesome, im horrid with names, but i appreciate your approach to discussion. 😊
I am sure that the issues that exist today existed through time. People are people. I cannot percieve that anything has changed. So, what is the problem?
While I agree it would have been nice to have someone who took the other side of the arguement in a segment called the dual.
Rafe for prime minister.
They have a point..... Every time I look in the mirror just before a night out, I see the most desirable male in town.
The answer is surely, yes there may well have been, but we will never know.
A mirror does not signify queer, long hair does not signify queer, indeed throughout history men have grown long hair and tied it back.
It is wrong that historical facts get rewritten into fiction as the facts don't back up the ideology of the few today.
I don't think there is one part of history that we can now go to a museum and 100% trust what we read and hear them talk about.
Museums are no longer the true educational establishments they once were.
Do alexander the great or some of the roman leaders
No. There were only men on the mary rose. They were the kings sailors and they died in tragic circumstances. Move on, nothing else to see here. Its rumoured the lawyer shardlake may have been aboard and survived. Im hoping this is true.
I am sick, sore and tired of this shit. Enough! This is OUR heritage! If you don't want to look in a mirror, then turn your damn head!
