Knowledge’s reputation in this here rap game precedes him, and while many know him as a rhyme collaborator and confidant of Roc Marciano, many don’t know he earned his stripes in the early 90’s when Will Smith’s then manager, Charlie Mack, discovered him in a battle and immediately started shopping him to the industry elite. Knowledge breaks down how he ended up signing with none other than Teddy Riley, his early working relationship with a young Pharrell & Chad Hugo - yeah, that’s right, The Neptunes - why his deal with Interscope went south and the reason behind his break from the game until 2010 or so. We hear the incredible story of how he & Roc Marci virtually resurrected the underground, damn near created an entirely new sub-genre of hip-hop and discuss unmeasurable amount of influence they’ve had on today’s sound. Appreciate the feedback, note taken - we also have slight delays sometimes depending on how the interviewee dials in to the show. Sometimes when we think there’s a pause / opening from the guest, there isn’t. Haven’t found a work around for it yet, we do our best to be mindful of it. Appreciate the support!

And being indie is the best...Fuck those major label , man they stole your music and everything , by being indie you own your music everything.And we all know all respect to them but Griselda took them recipe...But they can't touch Roc Marciano or Willi the kid on lyricsim , they the two I respect the most in 2010 they were the only one still doin that boom bap..And the winners crew Hus KIngpin , SmooVth & Rozewood...There was only them. Everybody was makin that shitty dirty south sound , even in NY...Where NY is the gritty guttery sound..
