    Although the decision is wrong, you cannot fault the king. He called for a debate among the most trusted men and the majority agree to attack. There are not enough people like Hector in Troy in powerful position.

      @RaiBowyn 12 дней назад +21

      You’re right, majority voted to attack, but sadly they forgot Hector is the best fighter and general so his advice actually counts the most… tyranny of democracy, if a million people say the sky is green they are still wrong 😂

    Priam' s biggest mistakes in this war was that he never listened to his sons. He ignore Hector's warning. It cost him Hector's life. He also ignore Paris sugggestion to burn the Wooden horse. It cost him his empire.

    Hector's heart made troy lose as well. After they killed archillies cousin they should've kept going. But hector said enough for one day. Archillies gets revenge not knowing hector was a good guy and mistakenly killed archillies cousin and ended the battle.

    • @Bicurious_George
      @Bicurious_George 12 дней назад

      Eventually, Achilles would've joined the fight, and a fight in open land is a battle easily winnable by the Greek as they had more men, and obviously, Achilles. Hector was a man of honor and courage, and that's why he's so respected. But continuing that fight would've been an easy loss for them.

    • @bryangan2224
      @bryangan2224 11 дней назад +3

      Had they gone on, Achilles and the Myrmidons would have fought in open battle and ripped them to shreds. The whole idea of the story is that Achilles is invincible, yet depressed and an asshole.

    I’m pretty sure Athena and Poseidon aided in the destruction of Troy. There are some versions where Hephaestus made Achilles’ armor. Apollo did aid Paris in killing Achilles and Ares caused a lot of chaos on the battlefield causing low morale for the Greeks. Other such interventions of Olympus for both sides.

    • @V750.
      @V750. 11 дней назад

      Yeah the Gods were intervening in the battle of Troy when Agamemnon took Achilles’s prize aka Briseis he was furious but also heartbroken and acting like a child so he asked his mother which is a goddess to go to Olympus and ask Zeus for help in which she did then there is also Paris who was the judge of the three goddesses Athena,Aphrodite,Hera of which goddess was the most beautiful he choose Aphrodite which then set off the events of Troy during the war Aphrodite was aiming Paris and the Troyans for obvious reasons while Athena and Hera were surprise surprise on the side of the Greeks also for obvious reasons 😂.
      You also have Apollo who sent some disease with 🪰 or something like that towards the Greek army of king Agamemnon because they sacked/pillaged his temple you also have Ares who was on the Trojans side because Aphrodite persuaded him and he screamed and cried like a child when Diomedes managed to pierce him with his spear which was aided by Athena with Zeus’s permission to draw Ares out from the battlefield

    Fun fact - in the myth, apollo was infact angry about the desecration of his temple. He was infact so angry that he granted hector a son, who was destined to destroy all greek kings and thier families but Odysseus killed the boy in his cradle which only made the gods more furious.
