I love the skid steer, I bought an excavator as that was what I needed most but to be able to quickly move dirt from one place to another is gold. Ive just done the power to my shed and started on the irrigation. I am using a Hunter 54 station ACC2 with conventional wiring (7000 meters of it) I love the controller as I can monitor and control it from anywhere with a mobile signal. The humidity is killing me too I'm in QLD now. I sold my house in Picton NSW, left work and now am working away on my block. Your entrance is going to look so beautiful once the gardens go in.
Weedmat will NOT stop Kikuyu....It will only make it impossible to get rid of it once it grows into and throughout the weedmat. I strongly advise you to create a nice sharp edge at the garden bed edge and use your weedwacker upside down to cut the Kikuyu off at the garden edges.....it's the only way to keep Kikuyu under control at garden beds and makes for an extremely crisp, tidy and professional edge to your garden beds.
Definitely irrigate the front lawn and extend to garden beds. Given I’ve had soil issues with PH level would love to see the levels and profile on your property and how you treat if needed. Much to do!
Yeah slow down on the green and front lawn cutting bro. Knock out all the projects and shit, I know there is a lot of upkeep to do but whenever you're motivated just knock it out. It's good content!
Irrigation everywhere LOL Definitely smart, weather connected. And on the kik I'd be interested in whether you do it evenly or less at the bottom of the hill. You'd want irrigation in the vege patch too. PS love the robo cameo near the end ;)
I work at a water treatment plant which treats sewer which then goes to the farmers here in SA. We use a long arm excavator with an open bucket which catches weeds and lets the water out. Could hire one, make quick work of your pond
I thought you might put another sand trap at the back of the green just near the road instead of a flower bed, just to cut down on the long balls going too far! but that's just me.
I’d love to see a walk round / aerial view of the entire property to see how it all fits together and is currently looking. I think you did one when you first moved in but not sure I’ve seen once since.
I kind of use your Kikuyu lawn as an info source for the Every-Man's lawn (if that makes sense). ie. What the average bloke can achieve in his backyard without all the bells and whistles, when it's time to scalp, fert, rehydrate, etc. Thus, introducing watering tech moves it further towards a manicured golf lawn and less of a reference lawn - for me anyway. Looking forward to the other projects too!
A bit of Irrigation doesn't change the kik. It just automates the watering. Its still an everyman's lawn, with an automated sprinkler. All the other reference points remain.
Yeah, I get that @@peterhoz, but it's always good to see how he revives the lawn after going on holidays and the ground getting a bit crunchy. It's another lawn tip that helps Average Joe. I'd be happy for him if he added irrigation, but for the sake of us viewers, having a reference lawn with all its problems helps us out when he restores it 👍🏻
Six tee boxes I reckon would be awesome I near the drive way close to the trees then another closer to the house in between the trees. Two on the other side of the house and then two more at the other side of the property
Definitely need irrigation out the front, have you thought of putting some small shed near the green, so your mowers etc are closer. That's what I would be doing, hide it behind 1 of those walls etc. Much life more simple.
The easiest long term solution for plant growth in a pond is simply to dig it deeper so the plants can’t grow then pull the slope back on the bank so it’s easier to maintain with a mower. Usually 3-4ft deep water min or more it won’t be able to grow anything
Yo mate what up welcome to another lawn tip vid to get rid of the weeds get a snorkel and mask and get in there with some cutters and just swim around and cut them down🤣🤣🤣
lets see the pond drained completely and bed it will fresh sand and then put in blue die with a water fountain in the middle with a little beach area coming off it
Have you thought about an area that you only use "hardware" store products. For people on budget, or only shop at hardware stores, or even to showcase how much better your products work compared to hardware store products, or does that start getting a bit lawsuity.
Hey man id definetly love to see another irrigation install video. Ive just moved into a place with a bore and would like to put in some myself coming from said bore. Bit confused as to the equipment i need to get water from bore to sprinklers etc. Cheers dawg
I’ll take that bro. This season with the business has prevented me getting things done. Have all these goals then other things take priority. Might be a sign for me to stop speaking my mind and goals 👌🏽
@@LawnTips definitely don’t stop talking about your goals. I’m sorry, was a rush of blood with that comment but it’s exciting to hear what you’re gonna do, but then disappointing when we don’t see it. I totally understand priorities change. My approach is under sell over deliver 😀
All the work with the garden beds and veggies sounds like a great second channel. Get Emma and the kids involved too!
Yes 100% irrigation on the Kik!!!

Your videos bring me so much enjoyment especially while we are in winter here in the US.

Do the God damn irrigation 😂😂. Things lawn people never say...... "man I really regret installing that automatic irrigation system"
All the projects do whatever and we will watch

Great video Ben, it’s good to see you getting some general projects done.
So cool to have that at your home. I need to move to the country to do similar. Great to have the lads round for a laugh
Irrigation everywhere LOL

Yes. You need irrigation on the show piece in the front.
Would be great to see popups in the front yard. A vid would be awesome.

Finally! The vids we've been waiting for! What up mate!

Look into pond fish for algae/weed removal. Plecostomus, koi, grass carp, pond loach, catfish. Also look into snails and freshwater shrimp.
More cool season grass projects.

You could probably automate the fairway with some drainage, fertigation and robot mowers... ;)
Pretty sure you can get a aquatic safe round up ( won’t harm fish )
Would love to see videos on garden beds :)

Aeration for the dam, either an aerator or fountain.
Has your golf handicap improved since having the green.
Yes 100% irrigation on the kik
Love the channel! What is the best way to stop my kyk popping up into my garden beds?? It’s going nuts haha?!?
Always go irrigation 👍🏼
Hire a skeleton bucket dig them out with the digger might take a few goes back its the best way
Exciting stuff ahead mate 😎
Definitely irrigate the front lawn. Says the guy from Texas!!
Loving the lifestyle project vids.
Cheers mate! I enjoy filming them
Yeah defs do the irrigation!
Go all Nike on it mate and "Just do it". 😂
Hey Ben,
Mate you’ve got the equipment…. why not make wicking vege beds. Much more water efficient. Just an idea.
Yo mate what up. Keep up the good work 🤙

Upload ya all ya house projects. Some may not watch them. I will
lets see the pond drained completely and bed it will fresh sand and then put in blue die with a water fountain in the middle with a little beach area coming off it
Irrigation system would be great to see plus using wifi valves so i can learn off you. 😅
Put in a sand bunker and beach 🏝️ on the dam.
Nice. I got inspired last time from you and getting a bore for irrigation my 2 acres of land and looking forwards for more!
Have you thought about an area that you only use "hardware" store products. For people on budget, or only shop at hardware stores, or even to showcase how much better your products work compared to hardware store products, or does that start getting a bit lawsuity.
Put “grass carp” in the pond.
make the dam in to a natural pool so you can also swim in it
I noticed the robot mower in back ground briefly. If I had a large property I’d be all over one of those outside the manicured areas.
Think he has 2 for exactly that reason. They've been mentioned in earlier vids.
You are probably getting in your tomatoes and cucumbers in a bit late Ben, late October early November is the best time to get them in.
We got them in around then. The veggie patch video was shot a while ago haha
@@LawnTips Ah okay, then they should be well established by now.
Big Fountain on the dam ?
We put fish in our dam, and then we unfortunately discovered a turtle when our fish seemed to mysteriously disappear!!!

Surely plant some fruit trees or what, shame to have so much land and only work on the grass
Have lots of fruit trees and so many other trees all over the property
Awesome not sure if you've done a property tour in its entirety? Would love to see it
Weeds in the dam they make this special stuff called round up
You should also flock your dam with alimuim salfate
Everything is “next week”, but we never see it. Sorry for hating
