This "old school" approach to teaching Latin works for me. I'm revising the Latin I learned over 50 years ago, just to keep my brain active. I loved it as a school subject when I was a teenager, and I'm really enjoying dipping into it again as I approach 70!
At 5:52 I meant to say that it is the penultimate vowel in the 2nd principle part, which identifies the conjugation of the verb. Feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding this lesson.
Very good and useful video. What I liked the most are the similarities between Latin,Spanish and Portuguese, obviously I know that Latin is the mother of all romance languages. But still some similarities flabbergasted me,eg in all these three languages, namely Latin,Spanish and Portuguese thou lovest is amas!
Brlliant lessons! Very clear and formulated in a simple and accessible way while it is also clear that you are conscious of everything you explain; addressing questions which arise in the mind (such as Silva being singular in lesson two while we say “woods” in English) immediately. There are but few teachers who can manage both clarity and completeness-my compliments! i shall follow through until the very last lesson :)
These videos are excellent. I wish I had them when I took Latin in high school. Do you know of anyone who delves into the definitions of letters and/or the linguistic relationship between the personas of Roman mythological figures and the personalities of the planets and stars in the night sky (the astrotheological basis of Latin)? Also, why do names older than Latin seem to follow the Latin protocol of names on Earth coming from the names of the planets and stars?
Nice information and presentation but I really didn't like the total disregard of the long vowels. They are important. Lenght of the vowels carry information.

By far the best Latin instruction I've come across on the internet so far! Thank you!
