Goodness, this sax section sends shivers down my spine, the trombones are nothing but restrained power (amazing), and the trumpets hit exactly what they want the exact way they want to...... Amazing band, amazing video, amazing performance, love it!
I spent a year in Japan courtesy of the wonderful people of Japan and the U.S. Navy, and made the trip into Tokyo several times to go to jazz clubs. Caught Big Band style music and a lot of what my wife would call "squiggly" jazz, the more modern sound. My best memory is hearing a cover of Louis Armstrong's, ” What A Wonderful World”, sung in Japanese. It was *wow* beautiful, brings tears to my eyes thinking about it just now, and that was back in 1973.
I love Japanese music, but never really got into jazz. But lately I've been listening to the super mario 3d world soundtrack, and an old vocaloid son called miracle painting. I couldn't find other jazz songs like them, realizing they were both made by Japanese composers I ended up here. I was not disappointed.

Brilliant. Awesome. Wonderful. Excellent. I don’t comprehend Japanese but I am a jazz aficionado. Japanese musicians are super magnificent extraordinaire. The Chai-Chee Sisters are magnificent as well. I wish that Japanese jazz musicians like Akiko and the Chai-Chee Sisters performed in America, but they don’t come here, probably because most Americans prefer Beyoncé over listening to great music.

曲はsingsingsingのアレンジ、さらにここまで40～50年代のアメリカの雰囲気を出していると、外国かぶれな日本人、という雰囲気に思えてしまいますね。
ただ指揮者の方の恰好がトニー谷を意識しているところをみるに、あえて50年代の外国かぶれな日本人を表現しているのかもしれないですね。
