Yes. The sequels would have been much better received had they done this rather than Chucky inseminating another doll somehow or killing Brittany Spears
Gotta love how the voodoo guy explicitly tries to stop Chuck from doing evil. Voodoo isn't meant for evil, Chucky is perverting the magic he was shown (even if said magic isnt real voodoo). Basically the film makers respected voodoo enough to to show it as not inherently evil, just misused by Chucky.
I was born in 84 so the first 3 will always be my favorites. 2019 version was ok too. Idk why but I always remember the guy voicing chuckie ( Brad Dourif) also was in a tales from the crypt episode with Bill Paxton Rip

(John yelling angrily)"Because you're an abomination! And outrage against nature! You perverted everything I taught you and use it for evil! you have to be stopped!" 😠
You know this may be a controversial opinion, but the original Chucky is my favorite interpretation of the character. Yeah he’s not the jokey one liner spewing cartoon character murdering doll from the sequels, but he feels the most human here. Think about it, Charles was a desperate scum crook who tried to weasel his way out of death by possessing a doll, and then being in that doll in first place becomes his punishment. Brad Dourif really sells how sad and pissed Chucky is despite still giving in to evil urges. This is why the first Child’s Play will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a slasher film that tried to tell a good & genuinely interesting story about a complex antagonist with a resolution. Now I DO love CP2 (it’s admittedly a bit more exciting as a movie) and most “Chucky” billed material, but the OG 1988 film has an unmatched unique feel that I can’t help but respect a lot.🫡
I agree. He increasingly becomes more human in the first movie. His hairline recedes, eyebrows become thicker, and his eyes change. 1988 special effects and the way the character is written was the best.
The original Child's Play is the best Chucky movie. I honestly don't get the extreme hype for the second movie. I mean, I love that one, but aside from the kills and the soundtrack, the 1988 original is just better. It's also the only movie where Chucky acts more like a normal dude rather than the one-liner angry clown we have now.

*I like how in that movie Chucky was really scary. **0:23** He even growled in anger looking for answers about his soul transfer. He has nothing left to lose but his own life. And he kills anyone who stands in his way, and with joy.*
Imagine if he Chucky never told Andy and the voodoo doctor was the first person he revealed himself to that means he would have to live his hole life with a broken leg and arm.
Those bones will heal in about 2 to 4 months
Hahahaha
It doesn't matter. You remember what happened to nica who was paralyzed but now she can walk with chucky soul.
@@KingOfThaDead64 that's different his arm and leg are actually broke
@@SILVER_EDITS2 and nica is paralyzed. I don't think it works on Chucky.
They made the movements with the doll so lifelike back in the day.. the chucky in the tv series seems more robotic compared to the og
Anybody else feel like Chucky sounded a little sad when he said "so long John" lol that's what made this scene memorable to me
It was at this time that Dr death realised perhaps teaching powerful voodoo spells to a serial killer was probably not the best idea
Worst idea of his life and career.
This still looks amazing and creepy .
The Chucky movies after this and even the new TV shows couldn't replicate this chucky look . Classic.
Always kind of wished they had expanded a bit more on the voodoo aspects and lore.
Yes. The sequels would have been much better received had they done this rather than Chucky inseminating another doll somehow or killing Brittany Spears
i love that whenever chucky moves around, you can hear the plastic and rubber making noise lol
John's acting is amazing. Why was he not in the series more!??? Also it's hilarious when his leg breaks arghahhhahhhhh! " lmao
Sure how do you want it broken leg lol
christopher simpson yo I was born in 88 feel old but that leg broken still gets me
christopher simpson AAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Zak Gaming
That noise when the shower water is cold.
Me: Literally swoons.
(Screaming in pain)
Man, Chucky was very sadistic in this scene, this is why the first movie will be one of my favorites.
Why would you tell a known serial killer where your own voodoo doll is kept? Terrible decisions have terrible consequences.
CHUCKY WAS FUNNY WHEN HE SAID SURE HOW YOU WANT IT BROKEN LEG? 0:53
1:02
I think chucky looks more realistic in this scene than ANY OTHER movie
Teach serial killer the secrets of black magic, is shocked he used it for evil.
"The longer you're in that body, the more human you become." I have to live the rest of my life as a doll doesn't follow from that.
He didn't mean he'd become an actual human. He meant the doll body would become human-esque, like developing tissues, bones, blood, etc.
@@glennabraham2345 and internal organs
best evil laugh EVER
0:03: me telling my mum on how my friends were being toxic
Chucky "Sure how'd you want it? Broken leg?"
Me: Swoons as I fangirl.
(John screaming)
Gotta love how the voodoo guy explicitly tries to stop Chuck from doing evil. Voodoo isn't meant for evil, Chucky is perverting the magic he was shown (even if said magic isnt real voodoo). Basically the film makers respected voodoo enough to to show it as not inherently evil, just misused by Chucky.
MAGIC IS REAL!!

The original 3 Child’s Play was pure gold. Any thing after is trash.
1:22
Sorry but the transition and puppet movements here look super good. Such great movement and posture for an iconic pose
I was born in 84 so the first 3 will always be my favorites. 2019 version was ok too. Idk why but I always remember the guy voicing chuckie ( Brad Dourif) also was in a tales from the crypt episode with Bill Paxton Rip
I was 4 years old when Curse of Chucky came out so I wasn't here when original 3 was made😒 so i was here for curse of chucky:)
And I'm watching 2019 version now lol:D
Same. Born in 1987. I grew up on theses in Detroit👊🏽. I remember watching it from Blockbuster and other VHS rental stores. Would give me nightmares lol.
As well as Grima Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings.
Scares me so much when he says “what?!” It’s almost he believes that he’ll live in a doll forever.
1:41
Chucky: HAHAHAHAHA i don't believe it I just don't believe it
Me: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Eric Harris yup
jxzzyplayer 13 I love his laugh 😊
I’m gonna be 6 years old again
"well John is has been fun."
"I gonna go. I had a date with 6-year-old boy. And you have a date with death."
(Chucky stab John's heart with the voodoo doll goes but the knife and John screaming in pain) "so long john." (Chucky runs off)
I love the style of classic Chucky
My favorite Chucky. Pure evil and dark. His laugh is also so good in this one
Chucky is so funny
The original Chucky will always have the most terrifying face ever.
Why did Chucky seem more convincing in the 80s than 2021
“ I can’t do that Charlie”
“Why not”
Me: lol
More like "Why nat?"😂
He said Chucky
🤣🤣🤣
(John yelling angrily)"Because you're an abomination! And outrage against nature! You perverted everything I taught you and use it for evil! you have to be stopped!" 😠
0:22 *NO FUACKIN WAY!*
YØU GØT ME INTØ THIS YØU GET ME ØUT!
"I can't do that Chucky!"
@@TravonJamelGreen*why* *not?*
Because your abomination YOUR NOT READY AGAINST NATURE YOU PREVENT EVERYTHING FROM ME AND YOU HAVE TO BE STOPPED
Because your an ABOMINATION! AN OUTRAGE AGAINST NATURE!
“Well John, it’s been fun, but I gotta go” sounded smooth
Seriously, how did the line "I have a date with a six-year-old boy" sound right to the writer?
IKR
cuz its a doll it comes from a doll god damit people are stupid
John Doh Even though it's the voice of a grown man and is, in fact, technically a grown man.
Peadophilism was so big back then I guess
Awsome2464 and what that meant is I will have the 6 year old boys body.
I can't take the guy seriously when he scolds a doll about using power for evil and calling him an abomination against nature.
🤣🤣🤣
Voodoo isn’t always used for evil actions
1988 Chucky: Tries to kill & Pocessed His soul Into Andy.
2019 Chucky: Protects & Kills those who tries to Hurt Andy.
😢😢😢 I feel sorry for that man
I love Chuckys voice but for some reason in this one Scene his voice sounds the Coolest out of the whole Series
*I know he's a serial killer but Chucky's voice sounds like some sort of 1920s gangster lol*
1:57 *Chris Hanson walks into room* "Why don't you take a seat over there, Chucky."
This is one of the most painful scenes to watch.
Ikr its painful than any scenes of childs play it was disturbing for me to watch this when i was younger
I do believe this is the only movie that portrayed a voo doo priest as good and not completely evil
Who the hell makes a voodoo doll of themself?
Yeah he's crazy!
Benjamin Brown Your picture matches your comment so well, lol.
Benjamin Brown Study the Occult
+Benjamin Brown Even if John made a voodoo doll of himself, it was his fault for telling Chucky where it was hidden as Chucky said from 1:06-1:11.
I think Charles made the voodoo doll incase John lied about the voodoo death cheat
Sorry Mark Hamill but you will never top this performance.
And Brad can't replace Mark as the animated Joker
This is the best the Chucky has looked in the entire franchise.
2:06 you can hear some blood drip here but you can’t see it.
Chuckys hand looks real Omg That's creepy😳😳😳
