Why on earth would I buy something new if it already needs repairs? You did the right thing. You made the correct choice. I would never purchase a bag that already needs repair. That is why I never want to buy anything with glitter, pearls, or any small pieces that might fall off and then I would have to keep sending the item to be repaired. Especially with expensive items that we often hope to keep using for decades to come.
I’m so sorry you had this experience. I have visited the Bulgari store in New Bond Street and we took our two dogs and had an absolutely outstanding experience. If I may suggest you reach out to Amro at New Bond Street, he was absolutely superb and we spent hours in store, had a tour of the jewellery collections and I eventually purchased a Serpenti Ring, and a new wedding ring for my husband. He went out of his way to make it a wonderful experience and memory. I hope you still get your bag with the right level of service ❤️
You did a right choice by walking away. I walked away from the Speedy P9 in size 25 because the sides of the zip weren't perfectly aligned. Sorry, for the price of 7.5k€ I want everything to be perfect.
For that price you have every right to expect the bag to be in perfect, brand new condition. You were right not to get it, because you would have had to wait to have it repaired before you could enjoy it. If it was me I would always be worrying about crystals falling off after that initial experience. Just not meant to be. I am sure you will find another “most beautiful bag you have ever seen” that you will love as much, if not more.

You did the right thing. If a damaged bag from a contemporary line was for sale in a department store a discount would be offered in my area. There is an understanding that it’s not acceptable to sell something imperfect. It’s insane to me that brands that expect you to pay thousands believe it’s fine to treat customers as if that is acceptable. And it’s insane to me that the SA didn’t tell you in advance about the missing crystals.

The point here though - you mentioned to the Sales Associate the fact that there were 3 crystals you could see were missing from the bags’ edge - it was ONLY THEN that the Associate mentioned there were in fact 5 missing crystals. My question to the brand would be “if you know it’s faulty, and why are you trying to sell it at full price”, get a discount sticker on it, or send it back to the factory !!! You absolutely made the right choice! Luxury brands think they can get away with selling products with defects because we want them so much. Offering a bag that needs fixes since day 1 is just ridiculous, they shouldn’t even dare to put them on display, that is not right for a 4K bag. Beautiful bag but terrible experience.

Wow Steph, I’m so glad you walked away! What is up with Bulgari? I also had a similar experience with a Bulgari leather bag I recently purchased. When I received it the seams were totally uneven all around the bag, there was wear marks in the leather on the inside, and it had a removable top handle that was sewn wonky and was virtually impossible to get on and off. I ended up returning. It was such poor quality for the price. Very disappointing. I own other Bulgari bags and they are impeccable.

It happened with Chanel I was told the navy color I was contemplating was the last one available so I purchased it. Two weeks later I was in a Chanel boutique in Bal Harbour and on display were not one not two but THREE navy bags!! I was so furious I returned it the minute I arrived home. You were right to walk away. I bought two YSL purses in Saks. Only to discover that one had major scratches on it and she said it could be repaired. I took it to a sack store and the gentleman there immediately told me that it would not be repaired. He knew exactly why it happened. He believed it happened in storage and was smashed up against other purses. As I walked back in the store to tell the lady that YSL flagship store said no, it could not be repaired. She gave me an additional 30% off Both purses/bags. He did clean up my second bag. I decided to keep them because even he did not have the color that saks had/however, every time I wear the bag, I am reminded that I spent a little less than $2000 per bag that is defective. I normally carry it so that no one ever sees it. I ask myself why did I think that was OK? But I did save a couple thousand dollars on the purchase of them both
You def did the right thing love. It was not at all a luxurious experience. To be told to buy the bag and then send it off for months for repair is not on. Also he was very pressurising with his sales tactics. He was quick to say he had instructions to return it to London etc. I def would not have bought it x something better will come along. The so black trendy was sooo amazing. Also the Celine and the andiamo! We loved them all!
always trust your judgement, if the pieces are falling off now it will only get worse, especially for that crazy price. I bought a vintage gucci python clutch around $1000 us, some scales were flaking up, thought could buy moisturizing snake cream for it be good,didn't do anything. wore it twice and scales flaked up more, afraid to use it and regretted buying it.eventually sold it for $650, my take $200-300. luv your shopping videos. I buy vintage because you get already see the condition it's in. luv bags where you made without lining Valentino and YSL vintage bags. also vintage Ferragamo bags are amazing in design.
I think you were definitely right to walk away, especially at that price point! As a former SA for another brand, it’s still a gamble with repairs as well. They might not even fix the bag or they might offer you a credit for something you don’t even want

I actually prefer the bulgari ring where the diamonds are only on the head and tail. I love the look of the gold scales in contrast to the diamonds on the ends. I'm sorry that the crystal bag didn't work out and I COMPLETELY support your decision to not buy it if crystals are ALREADY missing and it hasn't been carried. Even if you send it off for repairs and it comes back perfect, I would be checking for missing crystals every single time I carried it (while I'm carrying it, when I get back home with it, etc.). Too much worry to enjoy it in my opinion.
Hi Steph! I think you did the right thing walking away from that bag. I do think that expensive special occasion bags will last you a while but I also think you will stumble upon other beautiful bags during your shopping excursions. Funny story I was at a small LV boutique today purchasing my annual Bday bag( the Neo trunk from the cruise collection in the reverse monogram and I told myself no more monogram bags for me lol. I was offered a couple of new Murakami multicolor bags. Can I just say the folk were nice but all they offered me was a bottled water lol..maybe they are cutting back. Any who….people I passed on the Mulitcolor so the hype is just that. It is hype…all this information about it being sold out and you have to be a VIP to get it is not true and I am in LA. Just wanted to share…maybe if I bought it they would have made me pick up next week on the day of the official launch. Have to say I was not a fan of the Coussin…and it is all leather but it was just okay…just my two cents.
I bought a Christian Dior book tote and a wallet online about two weeks ago. They were both in the color Cloud Blue (which is stunning!) with gold hardware. When I received them I was shocked that both pieces had silver hardware. These were not inexpensive pieces. I called, spoke to someone, and was told to send in photos to their “assessment” department, which I did. I’ve yet to hear back from them. I’m amazed that this happened with CD. You’re right, the entire essence of top designers has fallen greatly.

Missing crystals is really something the SA should’ve mentioned over the phone, not just omitted that fact so they could make it seem like it’s not a big deal. They wasted your time and their own by not being transparent.

I would never be desperate to buy a LAST ONE bag, it will never be in good condition. I returned a faulty Hemes C24 Rose Tyrien years ago and that was harder to get. I would never buy a bag that needs repair.

If you buy anything with stones of any kind, be it shoes, a bracelet...lnow that some may need to be replaced as time goes on. No, you would neber regret it. That also happens with Chanel with pearl accoutrements usually need replacing. If you e pect nothing wver to fall out of a bag, luxury or not, then those bags arent for you. Also, leather has a natural agong effect, which I love, I think you do also. You made a choice there, no matter if its right or not, only you could answer. I would hate for you to buy it and rarely wear it. But bags are meant to be worn and USED! If it comes up again, mayne pre-loved, maybe then, you'll find yourselves together!
Hmmmm firstly I believe that if you don’t feel like you are getting the luxury experience then you should walk away. This sales person should never have even shown you the bag in that condition unless they were prepared to offer a discount or get you anther one in perfect condition. I love Bulgaria and have had great experiences with them. It is very sad that your experience was mot great. I think the bvlgary bag is much more superior to the chanel trendy . Besides, u have many bags that are very similar in style and function to the trendy . There's also no comparison between the Bottega and the bvlgary . It's like apples and oranges. Bvlgary bags r in a class of their own . They have a very distinct identity . They're very special bags , if you know you have the occasions to wear them . I would not have walked away .

I decided to keep them because even he did not have the color that saks had/however, every time I wear the bag, I am reminded that I spent a little less than $2000 per bag that is defective. I normally carry it so that no one ever sees it. I ask myself why did I think that was OK? But I did save a couple thousand dollars on the purchase of them both
You def did the right thing love. It was not at all a luxurious experience. To be told to buy the bag and then send it off for months for repair is not on. Also he was very pressurising with his sales tactics. He was quick to say he had instructions to return it to London etc. I def would not have bought it x something better will come along. The so black trendy was sooo amazing. Also the Celine and the andiamo! We loved them all!

always trust your judgement, if the pieces are falling off now it will only get worse, especially for that crazy price. I bought a vintage gucci python clutch around $1000 us, some scales were flaking up, thought could buy moisturizing snake cream for it be good,didn't do anything. wore it twice and scales flaked up more, afraid to use it and regretted buying it.eventually sold it for $650, my take $200-300. luv your shopping videos. I buy vintage because you get already see the condition it's in. luv bags where you made without lining Valentino and YSL vintage bags. also vintage Ferragamo bags are amazing in design.
I think you were definitely right to walk away, especially at that price point! As a former SA for another brand, it’s still a gamble with repairs as well. They might not even fix the bag or they might offer you a credit for something you don’t even want
It’s totally Unacceptable to even present a bag of that price tag knowing that had 5 cristals left.It talks poorly about the brand.Too expensive for what it is as a lot of bags we are running into lately unfortunately.Absolutely well done Deb.I bought the medium andiamo in fondant 2 months ago and I have used non stop,every single day since then and its quality is out of this world

You did the right thing. It’s 5 now and only a matter of time when another 5 go and so on. They won’t fix it into eternity either so once you’ve hit their warranty period, it’s now on you.
1. The product should have no defects, period.
2. The sales associate should have told you before you went to the store, so you can make an informed decision.

I actually prefer the bulgari ring where the diamonds are only on the head and tail. I love the look of the gold scales in contrast to the diamonds on the ends. I'm sorry that the crystal bag didn't work out and I COMPLETELY support your decision to not buy it if crystals are ALREADY missing and it hasn't been carried. Even if you send it off for repairs and it comes back perfect, I would be checking for missing crystals every single time I carried it (while I'm carrying it, when I get back home with it, etc.). Too much worry to enjoy it in my opinion.
Hi Steph! I think you did the right thing walking away from that bag. I do think that expensive special occasion bags will last you a while but I also think you will stumble upon other beautiful bags during your shopping excursions. Funny story I was at a small LV boutique today purchasing my annual Bday bag( the Neo trunk from the cruise collection in the reverse monogram and I told myself no more monogram bags for me lol. I was offered a couple of new Murakami multicolor bags. Can I just say the folk were nice but all they offered me was a bottled water lol..maybe they are cutting back. Any who….people I passed on the Mulitcolor so the hype is just that. It is hype…all this information about it being sold out and you have to be a VIP to get it is not true and I am in LA. Just wanted to share…maybe if I bought it they would have made me pick up next week on the day of the official launch. Have to say I was not a fan of the Coussin…and it is all leather but it was just okay…just my two cents.
I bought a Christian Dior book tote and a wallet online about two weeks ago. They were both in the color Cloud Blue (which is stunning!) with gold hardware. When I received them I was shocked that both pieces had silver hardware. These were not inexpensive pieces. I called, spoke to someone, and was told to send in photos to their “assessment” department, which I did. I’ve yet to hear back from them. I’m amazed that this happened with CD. You’re right, the entire essence of top designers has fallen greatly.

Missing crystals is really something the SA should’ve mentioned over the phone, not just omitted that fact so they could make it seem like it’s not a big deal. They wasted your time and their own by not being transparent.
You definitely did the right thing! 5 missing crystals may not seem like much, but for the price, it needs to be perfect, and how many more would have fallen off after use? And I would have definitely been turned off by the icky sales tactics. I bet it was a return.

I would never be desperate to buy a LAST ONE bag, it will never be in good condition. I returned a faulty Hemes C24 Rose Tyrien years ago and that was harder to get. I would never buy a bag that needs repair.

Firstly, the bag should have been sent for repair immediately the employee had spotted the fault and secondly, he/she should have pointed the faults out to you, not waited for you to find some before pointing out exactly how many there were! You were right to walk away, a bag that needs a repair before you have even worn it, not a good sign, you don’t want to have to be forever sending it for repair until you end up not wearing it anymore.
I can’t believe the SA let you travel all that way without first informing you of the condition of the bag. That’s not acceptable. You did the right thing by walking away.

If you buy anything with stones of any kind, be it shoes, a bracelet...lnow that some may need to be replaced as time goes on. No, you would neber regret it. That also happens with Chanel with pearl accoutrements usually need replacing. If you e pect nothing wver to fall out of a bag, luxury or not, then those bags arent for you. Also, leather has a natural agong effect, which I love, I think you do also. You made a choice there, no matter if its right or not, only you could answer. I would hate for you to buy it and rarely wear it. But bags are meant to be worn and USED! If it comes up again, mayne pre-loved, maybe then, you'll find yourselves together!

Hmmmm firstly I believe that if you don’t feel like you are getting the luxury experience then you should walk away. This sales person should never have even shown you the bag in that condition unless they were prepared to offer a discount or get you anther one in perfect condition. I love Bulgaria and have had great experiences with them. It is very sad that your experience was mot great. They pride themselves on the highest of quality so I am really sad that this was your experience., I believe you did the right thing for you. Don’t regret it. Thanks for sharing
I think the bvlgary bag is much more superior to the chanel trendy . Besides, u have many bags that are very similar in style and function to the trendy . There's also no comparison between the Bottega and the bvlgary . It's like apples and oranges. Bvlgary bags r in a class of their own . They have a very distinct identity . They're very special bags , if you know you have the occasions to wear them . I would not have walked away .
