  • Russia produced roughly 17 million M91/30 Mosin Nagant rifles during its run from 1891 to the present. There are many Stories Of A Gun involving the Mosin in the US. A few of them made their way to a Big 5 store in the East Bay Area, and they were pounced on by the eager throngs....

It was at Turner’s or Big 5 at a tiny store in like Chino Hills I found an SVT40. Was showing Wife #2 a Garand and picked up the SVT and she said “ooh that looks wicked, buy it”! Okay, if you want me to! She’s LONG gone but I still have the SVT…

Good morning Steve! This episode speaks of the "Good 'Ol Days".
I was able to buy a Swiss K31 from Big5 about 2008 for just a bit over $100 plus tax.
IICR, around 2000, I bought, handpicked, Hex Receiver Mosin/Nagant along with a case of ammo from J&G Sales in Prescott AZ. Again, IIRC, I payed something like $150 plus AZ tax out the door.
I used my 003 FFL License to purchase it.
Thanks for sharing this informative video with us.
Happy 4th of July to you and yours.
    Stan

Hey Steve, that was a great story. I had six of those at one time, now down to four. I have
two rifle length ones, and two carbines ones. One carbine has an octagon receiver and one of the rifles
has an octagon receiver. Will definitely be keeping all of them now that we live in a very different
America than when I bought them. Have spam cans with the ammo and storing them for future
use. Thanks for the video and will be looking for the reloading video :-))

I’ve got one. Turns out it’s a Finish Guard Rifle. I looked up the markings on the rifle.

I bought a bunch of rifles from Big 5 in Washington State about 15 years ago. Mosins, Mauser 98's, Styer Mannlicher M95's, French Mas 36's and Turkish Mausers. The lesser quailty ones were as low as $59.00 and the real nice stuff was $159.00. I still have over 300 rounds of Turkish 8MM Mauser ammo I bought. It was $40.00 delivered for 700 rounds. Wish I had bought a lot more. The hardest ammo to get was for the M95 Styer. At first I bought M95 ammo at a gunshow that was reloaded using some type of Swedish brass. Later I got some real M95 ammo with WW2 German markings on them. I sold the M95's but kept the ammo made from the Swedish brass.

Most 91/30’s actually were imported out of Ukraine according to CAI and CFLC. But the Russian invasion obviously has hindered imports to be impossible.

Great info what was the point of the rim?
    And did SIG make mosins?

    • @ComiCBoY000
      @ComiCBoY000 Год назад +1

The rim of the cartridge is for headspacing and yes/no Sig did make barrels for finnish mosins in the 1920's-30's.
