You’re absolute stars! Can’t thank you enough for that. Apologies for my technical error, you can tell who the pros are 😅 And yes we really need to sort out that podcast - I would love to be on it! Thanks again ❤️🙏🙏🙏
I'm almost sold but 34cm is not big enough, i wish they would make at least 14 inches. Any recommendations for a 14 or above inches of wok will be appreciated
To be honest this is the biggest wok I've ever owned so I'm not sure where to point you towards. Any bigger than this would be likely too heavy for me and I can't ustilise the extra size. If you find something bigger that's good, please let me know :)
Thank you! I was very pleasantly surprised by this wok. I was expecting it to be ‘just another wok’ but I was shocked at how well it cooked the very first time. And I know it comes low down in the list of why you should buy a wok, but it’s really, really beautiful. It’ll be interesting to see if it keeps it’s looks after some heavy use… 😊
People don't fully appreciate the work involved in making videos, especially if its every day or two. It can invade all your waking time. Thanks for the work you do.
The silicone is a sleeve that goes over the handle. I imagine you can slide it off if you need to but the handle is part of the wok as it’s all made from one piece of metal. Hope that helps 😊
Hey can you please give some wok options that is little cheaper and available on Amazon I have recently started liking looking Chinese and your videos are very motivating 😊
Hey! Thanks for your comment. I also have a wok very similar to this one, which is also excellent, cheaper and is available on Amazon amzn.to/46xru6N I hope that helps and I’m very happy that my channel is motivating you to cook Chinese food 😊
Hey! I've had a lot going on so I thought I'd take a break before it all got a bit much. Don't worry, I'm not going to stop. I think taking time away from making videos has reinvigorated my energy for it. Thank you for thinking about me - it's very kind of you and incredibly touching ❤
Hi @@TmoneyFatStacks , thanks for your question. I think you’re confusing ‘light soy sauce’ with low sodium soy sauce. Light soy sauce refers to its colour - as opposed to ‘dark soy sauce’. The flavours are also different. I have a video explaining this if you search for ‘the difference between light and dark soy sauce’ on my channel. It’s an easy mistake to make though as there are so many types on the market. I’m going to make another video soon about more varieties, Thanks again and I hope that helps 😊
As far as I know they are. Without going to their factory, I can never be sure but that's what I've been told and I've taken them at their word. There are marks on the wok that certainly look like they've been made by a hammer or similar implements. When I first saw mine initially it looked very smooth but on closer inspection the marks are evident. I did my research before accepting their sponsorship and I have found nothing untoward. Hope that helps.
@@ChowWithLau Thanks! The wok is meant to be silky smooth based on my understanding. After 36000 separate hammer strikes it shouldn't have any indentations. Here's a good introduction for the qualities of a handmade wok - ruclips.net/user/shorts_1wv1n8l91U

£119 for a wok ? lol! People, just go to your local Asian supermarket and pick up a great carbon steel steel wok for around £15. My last one cost me £8.00 and is still going strong after 25 years! I know you may rely on sponsorship Chow, but I'm not sure guiding people toward this kind of product is the way to go. Just my opinion.
I wouldn’t much disagree with what you just stated - it is a very expensive wok. And up until about 2 years ago I definitely had never paid more than £25 for a wok (like you from a Chinese supermarket). But then my wife bought me the wok that I’ve used in my last year or so of videos which cost her £60. I was sceptical at first but it cooked beautifully. And when master star contacted me, I was even more sceptical but I thought I’d give it a try to see what a £100+ wok was like. And I have been genuinely impressed. It looks, feels and cooks like a premium product. Is it worth the money? I wonder if any premium pan on the market (eg hexaclad) is worth the money? However everything has a place in the market - and if you were to see one of these in the metal, so to speak, you can see why they ask for more money. Yes, it is a sponsored video, and no this wok isn’t for everyone. Part of the reason was to find out what such an expensive wok was like because I was always unlikely to purchase one for myself. However, sponsored or not, I would always have given my honest opinion about it. And to be fair to master star, they didn’t ever stipulate that I had to be ‘nice’ about their wok which is a big reason why I collaborated with them in the first place. Your comment was fair criticism and I welcome that. Hopefully I have given you an open and honest answer. My viewers are my most important consideration and I always am willing to engage in genuine discussion. Thanks 😊
@@ChowWithLau I totally agree about how there is a market for everything , Im just at a lost as to why there is such a HUGE price difference when both wok's are made of exactly the same material. Don't want to come across as mean as I love all your videos. Keep up the good work and thanks for replying.
@@JohnConboy1 Short of gold plating it, I don’t think any pan is literally worth the money lol! However, although it’s essentially made from the same metal, it really doesn’t look like it. Besides, EVERYTHING’S stupidly expensive now 🤣 I worry the gas I use to cook a meal will cost more than a wok these days! Anyway, thanks for engaging in a constructive way. I enjoy these chats and am always up for them 😊👍

Is aliexpress a good company? I’ve bad things about there shipping habits.
Is the silicone handle removable?
The silicone is a sleeve that goes over the handle. I imagine you can slide it off if you need to but the handle is part of the wok as it’s all made from one piece of metal. Hope that helps 😊
This wok cannot be cast iron if it is hammered. It would be carbon steel according to the aliexpress website. Cast iron is poured into shape.

what's the point of buying "light" soy sauce when you just gonna add more sodium in it because its not salty enough?

Is the Master Star genuinely hand beaten? There are a lot of fakes of the Zhensanhuan Woks
